hey guys,

my b18c is eating to much oil

whats the problem???

too much vtec!

oil is too thin for the k's you have ??

how much is it burning ??

what model is the motor? how many ks on the motor? what grade oil are you using?

after these questions are answered then we may be able to tell you what you need to do or go towards :)

93 model, 116 000kms and using elf excellium 10w-50 oil.

its burning way to much oil

doesnt blow out smoke or anything, engine is in fine working order.

10-50 is a bit too thick imho.

go for 0-40 or 5-30 somthing around there.

motul 300v/8100 xcess 10w-40 and 5w-40 respectively
otherwise honda oem oil 10w-30

thick oil burns faster? you guys are kidding right?

Thinner oils tend to sneak by bad valve seals and piston rings much easier then a thicker oil hence buring oil...

Once in a while I'll see a crx/eg civic or similar accelerating normally and constantly leaving clouds of blue/white smoke...Is that a common problem that's caused by something or are the engines simply wearing out? Maybe that's the problem you have?

Theory aside, it would be wise to use an oil weight recommended by the manufacturer.
