Hi Guys,

Went to see an s2000 today im really interested in, inspected the car fully and exterior wise its in good, but im more concerned about mechanical issues. I've owned all other hondas except for the s2k so please bare with me.

Down to the issue when i drove the s2k, it drives beautifully until vtec kicks in about 6.5k rpm?

Anyway i vtec'd it and as soon as it crossed over to vtec the car vibrated like no ****ing tomorrow. The whole interior of the car was literally shaking (i cant put this in any other way). I vtec'd it in gears 1,2,3 and constant vibration all the way through the gears.

Now before i go ahead and make a stupid decision to purchase the car can anyone please advise if they have had this issue and what caused this issue?

Any help on this would be excellent.

Thanks in Advance.

Did you feel the car vibrating on normal speed, was the car lowered?

Could be cv's, but the normal only put a vibration through the seat.

It could be a few things. Does the car vibrate at any other time? Where do you feel the vibrations/shuddering is coming from? Check if one of the engine mounts is cracked.

does the car have coilovers or is it lowered? my interior sometimes rattles around a bit when I plant my foot down ever since I installed my coilovers due to have stiff they are. Also I need to get drive shaft spacers as well which will hopefully fix part of the problem. So it could be the same issue causing problems with this car

maybe you can try other s2k on the market to see the difference.

Have you asked the question to the seller & what he/she say about it?

thanks for the prompt response.

Didnt feel vibration in normal speed/cruising. Only when you plant the accelerator and crosses over to vtec. Hard to tell where the vibration is coming from as the whole car vibrates.

The car was not lowered standard height.

Any further thoughts on this?

Hey dude,

check the rims if they're balanced or not. highspeeds + un-balanced wheels = vibration

good luck.

Yep sounds like mine. CVs are stuffed, search my input "vibration noted at trackday" let me know if you know where to get cheap replacements if you go that way
