i'm in the middle of deciding if i should do a k24 into my eg it is an 93 breeze carby or simple buy one already dne my main worry is people thrashing the guts out of it before they sell where with a fresh motor i no whats being dne to it i am on a budget of about $15k iw would like for that to have
*5 lug
*bigger brakes
*k24 with 6speed
*kpro
*efi conversion
*labour
*engineed cert
*fluids
*e, h, i
im in the process of getting coilovers and camber kit i just want to no if this is possible on this budget
because most of the prices of the eg with k are 15 to 19k as it is i dnt want to spend much more then that i love honda and kswap but if its going to be much more thats gtr money i im getting on my fulls soon so i want something quick thanks

Depends on what you get the gearbox for...
This will determine if you can stay on budget.

It will cost you more to have all of this done. Cheaper to buy one already swapped IMO

Oh, & you'll need wheels& tyres too, so your budget is likley shafted...
Maybe buy one already done. /\

i would buy one swapped if i could get one for a good price i dnt want to pay 17gs for 92 hatch that i dnt no how its been driven and hows its been treated its a lot of money for a hatch even if there is a k in it
people try and get back what they spent on it i see evo 3 with 15gs worth of work and they still only get 10gs and its a more expesive car to begin with.
i will buy 1 already dne if in good cond and healthy motor if anybody has an eg k for sale send me some pics and info

Definately buy one already done. Save heaps of money and good platform to work.

thrashed 4G63 vs thrashed iVTEC K20??? That's why you pay more and that's why you know the Honda is worth it!

If you can't afford a K then get a B18C swapped Civic or something.

Anyway, what's the point with all this 'I don't know what condition the engine is it might be thrashed' business? Won't that be the same story if you get an engine put into your current car? Unless you rebuild the engine lol

just buy one already done man, even worth looking into a turbo b16 eg, that'll sure haul arse, cheaper too

I'd rather a thrashed K24 over a thrashed GTR... GTR's are known for them to go POP..... Talking from mates experience lol

if u want to go the cheaper way out buy one thats been done already.
if you want to see your ride slowly grow then do it yourself.
basically buy a half cut and wish for the best???

compression test should say all on a thrashed k24 eg or wateva your building...

Considering your budget it might be a big ask to get a k swap done in an EG. Consider that you will need a lot more than 15k if you want a GT-R to be as consistently and reliable fast as a properly put together swapped EG in my opinion. Most of the older GT-Rs seem to be ticking time bombs nowadays.

EG K-Swap is a big step up if you don't know much about cars. I'd suggest going eg bseries as parts are a lot more readily available and a lot cheaper too. They pack a fair punch too and are usually quite good. To put things into perspective for you

*5 lug - $1500 installed
*bigger brakes - not sure
*k24 with 6speed - $7k?
*kpro - $1k +
*efi conversion $500
*labour - too much. kswap labour alone probably 1-1.5k
*engineed cert - $800 for just engine
*fluids
*e, h, i - kswap headers are expensive, so put 2k aside for this

not worth it for someone that doesn't know much about eg-ks. lots of research required and so imo not worth it. eg b18cs are a lot easier. or even paying someone to bsway works out cheaper

A good B turbo is fast..you're limited by traction on them.

What's your best time in the fastest car you've ever owned?

I mean have you run 13's in your previous car and you're looking to get something to go faster?

Dougie is right, a 12 sec car is very very fast on the street, if you have the cash to splash just do whatever makes you happy man, personally, i wouldn't go k series, the torque is awesome, but wheel spinning 1st and 2nd with light throttle isn't very practical as a daily driver, and cops will bend you over

heres a rough cost
as iv gone through this myself .
hope it helps and hit me if you got any questions

*5 lug 1k + 300$ labour
*k24 with 6speed 5k
*kpro 1100-1300 second hand + instalation and tune 1000$
*efi conversion im not too sure with efi conversion.. was always told to try steer away from it to begin with .
*labour 2-3k easy
*engineed cert 700$+ 200-500 to mount oem exhaust and stuff to make it rwc
*fluids couple hundred.
*k-tuned intake 250$
k-swap headers range from 500-1500$
catback + cat 700-1k
hybrid racing shift box - 400$ if you want to engineer your car you'll need this as engineers will not let u cut out your shift hole .

not to mention other things you need such as
egk1 mounts 600$
wiring harness 300$
fuel lines/fuel rail / FPR 600-700$
price may vary by alot if your planning to keep a/c and p/s
5 stud wheels/tyres - XXXX$$$
drive shafts to suit your dc2r hubs if not included . 300-1k

there are a few more bits and pieces which are optional .. but tahts pretty much the basics...

k100 isntead of k-pro -800$ or so
budget k-swap exhaust
diy labour

Yeah one thing I noticed with my B16A build is that to be safe you have to multiply your budget by about 1.5 haha :D
