Is there any way of getting recaros or bride seats for accord euros? I have some knowledge that the stock seats have air bags and if you get rid of the chair, it disables other air bags or all?. Also its not road worthy? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance

you need to also get the srs ecu from a cl7 to overcome this issue

you can do this in type s dc5's using a dc5r srs ecu

Hypothetically. What happens if I wanna be hardcore and drive without airbags. It's not road worthy ey?

disabling any airbag will deem your car un-roadworthy.

Yeah. Would anyone know how much would it cost to get srs ecu from cl7?

yep, mate drives a the accord non euro version and running a bride seat. lose your airbag, and indeed is un-roadworthy. they pretty much have the same interior as the euros.

sang and his many cars, curious on what you do for a living? =P

and if you have a bad accident insurance could also not pay you out if you disable any airbags

FN2R seats with euro rails is the go.

i have a set to go into my cl9, all i did was change the airbag connector to match.

NO DRAMA'S

just waiting on the $$ to retro-fit the seat heaters and electric adjusters aswell as getting them trimmed in matching leather.

Have you fitted the fn2r seats yet?

shmivic

Not yet, only just returned to AUS on tuesday.

should really take them off to the trimmers to get completed this week.

If ur car is the lux u may as well get the dc5s seats and fit them in, wouldn't that be better?

I looked at both, the DC5S & FN2R.

in shape/style and support for my size the civic's were the better pick.

Cash is there to get them heated/electrically controlled and trimmed in the tan leather but i just do not get the time recently to move forward with anything unrelated to work

im here! will be trying to sort out a fix for the SRS issue tomorrow :) stay posted!
My solution will hopefully not only stop the light on the dash but retain full function of the remaining bags :)

i got em off firesport for quite cheap :)

-still no solution for the SRS airbags, waiting on a chance to take the car down to a shop to get the codes cleared.

dunt think u ll be able to do reset the srs , once the car in normal mode again it will just pop on again.. unless u isntall resistor. i think wrecker?

rodericb
21-12-2010, 01:35 PM
Yeah I was thinking when I was reading this thread that resistors are required so that the ECU thinks the airbags are in there and operational. My old Integra had an airbag warning light come up and it was due to the resistor for the passenger side "non-airbag" not working. If the new seats are cloth then you don't need the heaters so much.

Props to the guys who are getting into this stuff - it gives lazy bums like me something to dream about :D

Does anyone know if the fn2r type r seats need to be customized to fit into the accord euro? Also the type r seats cant be removed from the rails? Has anyone else got the type r seats in their accord euros?

FN2R seats have airbag's.

They do NOT bolt in, you have to pretty much molest the seat to change the rails, So you will require a motor trimmer to take care of that.

Mine are done, but out of the car again because i wasn't happy with the upholstery job (getting leather inserts soon)
Pic for ref:

I really have not had any time lately to focus on the car as I'm renovating a house at the moment.
Trust me, I'm so damn keen to get my shit done but struggling to find free time.

shmivic

FN2R base seat (for the airbag), custom trimmed for Euro R appearance incl all CL9 lux options.

Clear now?

ricerockets
25-11-2011, 10:14 AM
oh ok makes sense now, cheers for clearing that up

on a side note, i know removing an airbag will void insurance and all that

but will it only void insurance for people only with comprehensive or would it also void the policy for people on third party

i.e. if i had comprehensive cover and crashed with a non air bagged seat, there is a chance that the insurance company not paying out due to removing an airbag but if i only had third party and crashed with a non air bagged seat is there still a chance of not being paid out or would it not matter due to the policy only covering any third parties?

shmivic
25-11-2011, 10:21 AM
It's all void, call your insurance company and speak with them.

Few questions:

So this is a possible mod for a CU2 as well?

We're able to put heated settings into the Recaro's too?? Just need to find a shop that does it? :o

How pricey is it JUST to get the sets in/air bags/heated seats?

Can you please keep us posted shmivic? I'm keen to learn more about this :)

shmivic
25-11-2011, 10:43 AM
For CU2 i honestly wouldn't no. Never worked on one lol.

My recaro's have all the stock CL9 lux options, They are heated and electric adjust. Just like OEM.

Price, well that depends on the Upholsterer etc, mine were not too cheap to get done.

I also had to buy two sets of seats.
One spare set of OEM "lux" seats + the FN2R seats (incase i needed to revert back to stock easily)

Can't say i removed much weight from the car at all doing it, but it works for what i want.

marquee
25-11-2011, 10:56 AM
Dont mind too much about weight i got standard seats so no fancy warmers and stuff. Did you use the old seats rails. And does the airbage plug in straight away with the same plug

shmivic
25-11-2011, 11:00 AM
Plug has to be re-terminated as its a different connector, If your handy with electronics it's a 10 minute job.

Do i just swap over the rails from my CL9 seats to the Type S seats?
