does anyone knows any place better or as good as Ward While Motorsports ? cause i heard that graham was ill badly so thats why hes not picking up calls since last week. I need to get my car service done and have been done some searching on ozhonda forum, still unable to decided which one will be highly recommended yet. i was considering about AKMOTORWORKS but i failed to contact them with all the contact information provided.

Hey mate, AKmotorworks is also closed down. Andy, the tuner is still doing work on some of his old customers cars (me being one of them) but i'm not sure what he will do in regards to a new workshop etc. Don't know anything about Wardwhile either. If its just a standard service, take it to honda dealership for now or try 'Cosmic racing' if your close to them. Henry is the tuner there and he is very decent when it comes tuning, building etc.

If Ward While is closed you can't choose to go there, well you could, but there wouldn't be much point.

Pfftt u hadn't even given any options...
mugen_ctr
12-02-2011, 01:26 PM
just depends on where u live, for me northern suburbs, my only real options are local mech, honda in essendon or myself.... i choose myself, as honda over charges, an i hate general mechanics lol, id go for seeker as my mate always gets his car serviced there, if in the S.E area

Pfftt u hadn't even given any options...
i said other places, not gonna name specifics places as theres people who might like em or or wont like em.
like ur self u seen pretty bias towards mod project, not thats its a bad thing uve probably had great services from them, but that guy might not have if he has been there b4.
im just saying theres other options out there without naming places where people are gonna say no they are shit or yes there the best.
also to mods i think we can close this now, as his question has been answered.

If his never been to modproject then why wouldn't he choose not to go there? Afterall this is the main recommendation here.
Sorry I just don't see the point u are trying to make

heres my experience ive had with graham @ ward motors box hill.
early september last year i broke my crown and pinion.. after a few calls around i decided to take it to ward motors as it was recommended by a few workshops. after meeting graham and leaving the car with him i thought my car was in good hands. 2 weeks later i had not heard from him. i called and i called every day till the end of the month with no answer. I had to take a day off work to go down there and see whats happening. Needless to say the shop was shut with no one there exept the landlord. i had a chat with the landland and he had confirmed what had happned. Graham had skipped 4 months rent and did the runner, leaving 5 customer cars (including mine) locked inside the shop with the keys missing.
I got hold of graham's persnal mobile no. and finally got through to him. he said he would meet me in person and give me key one day, and didnt show. second time he said hell leave the key out the front of he's shop... lied again. and 3rd day he said he'll drop theys off at local police station, and lied again.
by this time i was furious, had no other option but to use my resources and find he's address. Payed him a visit at 9pm (with 5 mates) and surprise he didnt answer the door. a man did come to the door and assured me i will have my keys the folling day if i promiised not to show up there again. the next day i recieved a message from graham telling me that my keys were at box hill police station, and FINALLY there they were.
so finaly got the car on a truck again and off to another work shop. I hope that answers everyones questions about why there no longer open.
my advise, stay far far away from ward motors.

Wow, if that's true, sounds pretty bad. So you think that everyone's claim that he is "ill" is just a rumour?
'tis a real shame if he did do something shady like that, because he really was a top mechanic for us. Cheap, more than willing to go after secondhand parts (good for us cheap uni students), very knowledgeable and experienced in both Honda's and racing (running a track car himself) and generally, I haven't had as good of an experience with any other mechanic.
But pulling a runner...hmm

Anyone know if Promax in Nunawading is OK? I was told to take my car to them, I called and asked if they could press out the bushes in my front lower control arm, said they would call me back, never heard anything.

this seems a reoccurring theme with mechanics that specialize in modified cars....
Why is it that this "game" attracts scum for ?
