Hi all,

Trying to source some parts to rebuild my rather tired D16Y4. The thing that really gets me at the moment is the con rod length: Y4 = 152mm whereas the Y7 is 137mm while deck height for them both are 212mm. Also, both uses the same crank so the only difference I can see is with the piston pin location..

At the end of the day, can I use the Y7 pistons/rods combination in a Y4 and won't lose any compression?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated

I have read that on wikipedia about the Y4s rods being longer. So honestly i think thats a typo, the Y4 is very similar to the Y8, bar vtec, its got none. same head design & size without vtec.

As far as i know, all D16 motors have a conrod length of 137mm.
