All hydraulic ( clutch operated)b series gearboxes should suit.

From any 92-00 ek4,em1,eg6,eg2,dc2 and dc4 amongst others. You get the idea.

You need as discussed , a b series hydraulic clutch kit. Oem , heavy duty or organic are options from the company known as exedy/daikin. You can get these on eBay , or better yet send TODA AU a pm about it he can source them
For you

I was of the belief that all bell housings for b series gearboxes were interchangable and would function fine with the apporpriate mechanisms, is that not the case?

Do you want an upgrade? Or just a replacement?

Why not just source the same you already have?
