Hi guys,

does anyone know much about the 2005 Honda CBR 600RR, because I'm thinking of buying one but I don't know anything about them, does anyone own or owned one and have valuable information about it that they can pass onto me to help make my decision.

If you do then it would be greatly appreciated =D

I have owned an 08 600rr for the past 2+ years. Ill try my best with this review and im sure most of it relates to other 600's including the 05 RR..

Engine:
-Ok as your already aware, these things are FAST.. 0-100 in approx 3 secs or thereabouts
-1st gear can pull in excess of 115km/h on the 08
-the RR's usually have a strong mid-range so this is a positive for daily usage
-at 100km on the freeway your probably sitting at around 4k/RPM in 6th gear (will double check next time I ride haha)

Seating:
- Probably not the most comfiest of bikes for daily usage, but is relatively comfortable for a supersport machine
- In my opinion, comfiest seating position of the 600's along with the GSX-R 600.. the R6's positioning was way to 'race mode' for everyday riding (this is again, objective)
- ass starts feeling sore after lenghty rides

Suspension:
- in all honesty, all the 600's supersport machines have awsome handling, you look where you want to go, and it goes !
- the sussy on my 08 is relatively firm, but is soft enough for daily usage
- a cheap but great mod is to go to a suspension specialist to get the suspension dialled in for your weight. Honestly makes a world of difference
- these bikes are really flickable and with the right rider, the right tyres and on the right track, can give 1000s a run for there money

Aesthetics:
- this is a matter of personal preference once again, but I think they look good

Running Costs:
- services usually set you back from Honda approx $200+
- service intervals every 6,000km
- ofcourse, services can be cheaper at other places
- I get around 300km out of a tank

Misc
- really easy to lose your licence on lol
- great popo magnet, superb chick magnet
- kinda exxy to repair if crashed specially coz of the fairings, so even a light fall can set you back 1k+ if you want a brand new lookin bike
- good tyres are a must to really bring the best out of the bike
- exhausts make them sound amazing

Hope this helps and feel free to ask any other Q's

great bike. i own an 04 and the major difference is the upside down forks and radial brakes. both 03/04 and 05/06 ride the same on original suspension, but the advantage is the radial brakes. slightly better on 05/06.
