- I just recently drained the oil from my car and filled it up. It hasn't been that long how come the engine oil is nearly empty in a short amount of time?

- How often should I change the spark plug? What benefit would I get from changing to new spark plugs? And which one do you recommend me to get?

did you put the right amount of oil in? the amount specified in the car service manual?

as for spark plugs ... replace them as needed

If the op has put in the correct amount of oil into the motor, may i ask how many times do you thrash your car?
This may be a problem.. Check seals? maybe its leaking ; commonly on oil sump and rocker cover..
Have you been noticing any drops of oil on the ground on where about you park your car?
It can be spark plugs or leaks, maybe something else which i cant think from on top of my head.

Spark plug should be changed every 5000kms same time when you change oil, oil filter, air filter etc etc (thats just me though)

when are you checking the car's oil? usually it's best to leave it overnight and then check it first thing in the morning, that's just to make sure that oil isn't circulating through your engine and your dipstick is giving you a wrong oil reading..

if you do check it in the morning and it's really low, then yeah, double check if you've filled it up with the appropriate amount of oil.

with regards to sparkplugs, check the owner's manual because different cars are slightly different, the owner's manual will tell you which part to replace and when etc. otherwise replace it when you feel like they're on their way out.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

hope that helped

Clean plugs after first 5k KMs, change at 10k KMs.

What engine do you have?

may i ask what's the point of changing oil if you didn't change the filter?
did you recheck the oil, cause a dry filter will take some of the oil when you turn the engine over

depends what plugs you get, you wouldn't change them every 5k service if its lithium ones

why dont you pull the plugs out? check the condition on them and re gap if neccessary before buying new ones

You sure the car was on a flat surface when your doing measurements?

Sparkplugs - Inspect the electrodes every 5 - 10,000ks and replace when necessary. If your engine is running an optimal mixture then you shouldnt need to replace it for a long time.
