Hello, this is my first of many post on this site.

I am looking into buying my first honda, It being a Civic. I just need some help of what to offer the bloke. As he said just make a offer. So il list some stuff that the car has and what's wrong with it.

Engine:
It's a 1.5L twin carb( it did has a D15 before the conversion)
aftermarket pannel filter
It has a RE-cond 50xxxxkm ago (i assume rings and shit like that)

Drive line:
Manual gear box
All stock drive lines and shafts

Exterior:
Paint is shabby could do a with a re-spray
No major dents
It's got a few rust spots
Few sctratches
cracked windscreen
needs left indicator

Interior:
Has racing bucket seats
Every thing is there, just needs abit of TLC
has dash surround and stereo surround paint in gloss red
electric windows (wow) lol
Aircon (needs to be regassed)

Other's:

CHassis has done around 450xxxkm
4 doors (so it's a sedan)
Stock tyres and rims all round

SO what should i make this bloke a offer of ?

I can't upload pics as there on my phone and i don't have the cord. But can send photo's for the people who really want to give me a accurate price.

cheers

well he had it listed for $500 on boost cruising. But I don't know. I haven't been able to find a cheap one with a twin carby motor in Brisbane. If i could sell my R31 i would consider buying something better.

Is the car running? Coz it sounds as though, it's on the verge of falling apart.

yeah it's running. Yeah that what i thought. But he said he will take $350 for it. But as i said it needs a full re-spray and it need's a little bit of rust cut out.

$350 ? i take it dnt have rego ? which means means ur guna need a roadworthy.. might be hard but might be easy.

yeah $350 nah no rego or roady. It's gonna be a track car anyways.

Even for 350 i don't find it to be worth it, well you can always try pickles.com.au or manheimfowles.com.au which you would find a decent wreck and go on from there? :)

How much would you offer ? cause really he want's to get rid of it so realy i have the bargining in my hand lol.

Not worth it.

TRD_4age
21-10-2010, 08:28 PM
would $150 be worth it ? cause it's already got bucket seats with rails and a fully rebuild twin carb motor ?

splintercracks

Yeah, i'd say $150 - $250/$300. Coz getting indicators, respray, windscreens, RWC, rego etc. Will all add up in the long run.

It's not going to be regoed, It's going to be a dedicated budget track car. I just want something to learn in before i go into Vtec turbo's

Then you'll be sweet. Maybe worth the $350 if he'll def sell it.
If you do it all yourself you'll save heaps and learn heaps.

Buy it as a spare parts donor. If you're going to track a car make sure it's not gonna fall apart! lol

Lol make sure it can pass scrutenering

TRD_4age
21-10-2010, 09:52 PM
lol im gonna buy it then take it straight out on the track. there's no oil leaks what so ever. Im gonna take out most the interior anway. Plus im gonna strip like nearlly the whole car anyway. So il make sure every is ok before i tale it to the track.

Yeah iv'e already called transport, they said i can on my green P's. But not on my red. Plus im in the middle of a 3 month supension, so im screwed anyway lol. I think il just get a day permit lol.

i reckin if you put out 1.5k max, you will get a car 10-times better than this .. up to you tho :)

TRD_4age
23-10-2010, 09:08 AM
yeah i know if i spend a little bit more money i could something better. But for $300 it sounds worth it to me lol. Plus just the seats and rails would be worth that alone. No to mention the full ground up rebuilt motor
