Wow bro, thats pretty solid. Are those stock calipers? If they are, what's the part number for the brake pads? I'm planning to change my pads soon, so thought of going for something better than factory.

Hows the suspension? what is the spring rate?

LOL at the person who's going to be sitting at the 3rd row.

kit927
13-07-2011, 08:51 PM
Hey all its been awhile!!
Didnt expect the reply so quick!!..
Still need to list the parts..
I got nick to come out at 3am the same day i got the car back from dedy's to shoot it!! Lol..
The Tein's ar excellent so comfortable and the back doesnt jump around like a frog anymore through bumps..
Spring rates F10k R10k.. the only thing i dislike is i cant go any lower!!
It already on max at the rear and its still got a 1 finger gap..:(:(
mislead by the name SUPER WAGON 'low down spec'!! otherwise i would have stuck to gettin the RSR 'blacki'!!
Mobil1 they ar stock calipers and this is an upgrade u should get.. huge difference
not sure if i kept the box or left it at top one.. i'll find out for u and let u know..
they ar project mu bestop front and rear.. i think the euro share the same pad size coz i remember seein it on the box..
Only thing u hear is bass in the 3rd row i have to turn the sub off if i got full car.. Otherwise I get told off coz my son sits there..:D:D Im lookin into gettin some speakers for the 3rd row waitin to see and talk to Laski/aka_nsx for options..!!

Nice work on the audio, and those wheels sit nice and flush.

I'll be fitting my head unit in the same place in my RB3, and my amps will also be going under the seats like your JL slash amps do.

So, did you change out the RSR springs for the Tein set up, or are they Tein shocks and RSR springs?

I'm really keen on lowering my car but didn't want to go too low (maybe 30-40mm) and I didn't want to lose the comfort.
The RSR springs come recommended by others here. I'd be keen to know your thoughts in more detail compared to the factory set up.
And with a 50mm drop, do you get many scrapes?

Cheers,
Steve

Steve thanks the systems still go abit to go before its completed.. jus a matter of time and mainly $$..
u've got quite a good setup.. lookin forward to seeing ur's completed..:thumbsup:
i had RSR height adjustable coilovers with F8k R6k spring rate before the Teins.. the RSR's were great if ur after looks and comfort..
it was more responsive compared to factory but due to it not being damper adjustable it was jus too soft..
i only got the teins coz the RSR's were sagging at the back.. had it for 3yrs did 60000kms on it and never had a problem..
as for the 50mm drop be prepared to have ur heart teared unless if ur used to driving low cars then no problems.. if ur not then i would suggest to get used to 30-35mm drop then go to 50mm.. Thats wat i did to get my mrs used to the drop but still she tore my heart a couple of times scrapin the muffler..:(:(
cant really compare the factory setup.. to me the factory setup was not acceptable mainly coz of the height wise..
both the RSR and Tein makes the car feel more solid, tight and comfortable compared to factory..

Cheers

BBK first, it will affect rim choice as you will find that you will be more restricted to full face rims rather than rims with dish.

What did you do with the intake bit that was attached to the engine cover? Just cut it off?

LOL.. was thinkin if anyone would pick that up..!!
at first i jus cut everything except the intake pipe leaving a massive hole closed to the front of the pipe then i plastic welded it.. i was happy with it coz the car felt smoother and throttle was more responsive and was plannin to leave it that way..
until a frd came pass and said it looks S**T..!!
' it looks like some infection is growin on it..!! '
so i sanded it back down then got plastic putty to remould and shape it.. leave it to dry and repeat the sand, putty, moulding and shapin stage until it looked acceptable.. (it took me abt 5-6 goes before it look ok) waited for it to dry again then sanded it down till it was smooth and spray painted it..
sounds abit confusing aye..!!
excuse the rough explaination pm me if ur interested to try it urself..

Yea that was a concern i had..
i did ask the guy and he said a +35 offset rim would clear it..
i dont know if he's trustworthy or just want the business..!!
i might get the ap's first then and some spacers to make it clear the rx-8 rims..

Hahhahah was intending to do it to when I find the time. Difference is after plugging up the hole, sand it down and then cover it with dry carbon vinyl so that it doesnt need to be so perfect. Just need to find a spare one first so that I have the option to revert to normal in the future.

Would like to know how you plastic welded the hole up and more close up pics please.

Depends on design. Mine already cleared with space to spare on my old +42 7.5 inch rim. Even more space on my current 8.5 +45 rim. But my BBK is a small 4 piston caliper. AusAccord also had to install spacers for his BBK although he's got the same spec rims because of the rim design. The RX8 rims is 7.5 +50?

Do you really need a 6pot? 4 pot is more than enough for everyday driving. Can save some $$.
