ive searched on justjap and found a pair of bottem mount rails for ek and they have the bent tip like eks...is this all i need to make them fit its $199 is there anywhere else i can get these? cheers

best bet to do a safe job would be to take it to a welder.

the universal rails would need a extra bracket to be welded on so it lines up properly with the hole. that would be the most safe/cheapest way.

from my knowledge and visual observations...the universal rails jdm yard are selling have the 4 bolt holes that built into the base and then the rails are shaped perfectly to fit..so what would i weld? Also eg aftermarket rails wont fit?

i was talking about the ones that you have right now. since they are straight and u dont want to bolt into your chassis, i was giving u a suggestion. just food for thought.

Shouldnt be needing to buy universal rails from the start... its not classed as safed even if u weld it, not adr approved in the end, so if u crash an they find out, it can void ur insurance, better goin off rails that suit the car from the start, justjap rails should do fine, but spend a extra an get ek9 for peace an mind...
all rails start around 200 or so aniways

Just look for EK9 rails, perfect fit and you will pretty much always be able to re-sell them

whos to say ek9 rails bolt up the recaro replica seats?
unless they use exactly the same mount points, it will need some sort of modification either way

his already got universal rails. most likely his chair isn't ADR approved either so he would be in the same boat for being in a crash.

Not sure but I know a few people who use recaro replica with genuine rails and it fitted perfectly, but I guess you're right, you'll never know I s'pose

with those seats it's technically not gonna be legal anyway, so if your good with welding or know someone who is, I'd whack out the welder and get to work, if not just buy some rails. ;)

I ran around with welded rails in my DA and had no problems. :)
