Im accumulating parts for a K24 swap into a EG and I was thinking about which gearbox to use. Yep I've searched here too and didn't find much.
I've found the K20 type R boxes are super expensive, is the Accord Euro box any good? I've found a couple places who will do a K24 and gearbox together for reasonable prices which makes it easier since I'll get a complete engine/box/loom package.
Is there a reasonably strong alternative to a type r box? Type S? Civic?

id be going for a Y2m3 (01-05 ITR) NPR3 (EP3R) RBC3 (CL7) gear boxes, all have factory LSD, all 6 speed, relativly even in gearing (euro R has slightly shorter 3rd and 4th) but if u have the money the FD2R box, it has a 5.062 final drive,6 speed, LSD blah blah
for any NA k series cars id reccomend deffs getting a 6 speed, somthing with an LSD
hope it helps

Yeah a LSD and 6 speed is definitely on top of the list of things I'd like. Small gearing differences wont really bother me but I cant justify the huge prices on ITR/FD2R boxes when compared to Euro boxes which seem a fair bit cheaper.
Is it even worth going for a CL9 box? Are there aftermarket LSD's available for them that could be fitted later down the track? Are they similar in size to the ITR/FD2R boxes? I think I read somewhere that a CL9 box is a bit bigger.

I have no idea about sizes or anything, but the cl9 box's are built quite tough from what I hear; (my mates a honda mechanic). The problem with the cl9 box (apart from no factory LSD) is the stupidly long second gear.
I can get 107kmph out of second in my euro...
Just something to think about

i think the biggest reason to get fd2r gearbox is the stronger synchros. for me at least.

6 speed gets kinda annoying for daily. Prefer 5 speed for street and 6 speed for track.
