Hey guys,
I'm getting an 08 FN2 Type R for 25k.. Reason for being that cheap is due to the mileage of 64k but I find the price is quite fair and 64k isn't that bad.. And I'll be able to go to Honda and get extended warranty and it'll last til 2013! Car also comes accessorised with honda body kit and bluetooth.. You all think 25k is decent? I've checked out the car and it's in good nick. The dealer just wants to get rid of it because it's been sitting there for 90 days.
Let me know what you guys think!

25k is decent. Beats buying a dc5r with more kms for 20kish.

:D Thanks for the comment Poeter! Just hope it's a good buy.. the km's were racked up from highway driving because the previous owner drove 120+km's per day to and from work.. Oh yeah and forgot to mention it's also 1 owner :D

Mmmm.. didn't see that bargain earlier.. Ah well I'm still satisfied :P Colors wise, 1st choice is White and 2nd choice is Red, 3rd is Black and 4th is Silver :P Since there's no white's around, red it is! :P
did you trade in your fd2 for a fn2r? direct swap?

Yesh :D
lol not bad, i guess the fd2 are easier for the dealers to sell
like how one of the dealers here in vic wanted to trade my mate an evo 8 for his fn2r, direct swap, cos the evo didnt have any interest

Yup! Used that as an advantage as well saying the sedan will generate much more interest from the "General Public" lol.. Best thing was, because the dealer is located like 70k's away, I called him and said I wanted to trade in, he said, give him a description of my car, he'll get a quote and tell me if I should come down just in case so I don't waste my time.. He heard me say I had 13k mileage on my car.. then when I got there he noticed it was 30k lol... Still took the deal anyways!~ :P

What really matters is that you're happy with the car now and enjoying it as it is.
There will also be a slightly better deal somewhere in NSW. Plus if you were to buy one privately, you will have to go through the mess of either selling your fd 1st or have enough cashflow to support two cars temporarily while you sell the fd. And you can't guarantee you'll sell your fd for a good price and that may negate the savings from buying a cheaper fn2r to begin with.
So being a direct swap, I think you've got an easy deal.

*nod* That's the main reason I traded it in because it saves the hassle of selling the fd2 :)

Hahaha by all means :)
Wheels, coils were part of the deal :( I'm having fun with the car tho! Most importantly is as long as it's running great, the others can be done later on :D

Haha no hijack mate :) It's related! No real issues with mine.. but as recommended by other fellow FN2R owners, gonna get myself a quality gearbox oil change! Will also be looking to get a heavier gearknob :) Helps to give a more solid feel to gear changes and not so much of the notchyness :P

I'm looking at the Skunk2 which weighs approx 440gm compared to the OEM knob which is around the 160g mark?

did you have an Intake system in your FD2? and can you hear VTEC from the FD2? i've searched everywhere but cannot find info on this, thanks.
I only had a K&N Panel drop in filter and a tuned AFC-NEO.. can't hear the VTEC but the filter gives a nice sucking sound when you're flooring it although it's just a panel filter :P

Sorry to pull out an "oldish" thread, but just been reading through http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?137447-2007-Fn2-owners-check...
Wondering if you found any of that in your 2nd hand my07 fn2r???
I want to buy a fn2r as well, but now i'm skeptical...

Hey guys
I'm thinking of buying this 2008 fn2r
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?Cr=4&R=9524492&keywords=&trecs=72&__sid=12D5DA7331FE&__Ns=pCar_RankSort_Int32|1||pCar_PriceSort_Decimal |1||pCar_Make_String|0||pCar_Model_String|0&__Qpb=true&tsrc=allcarhome&__Nne=15&seot=1&__N=1216%201246%201247%201252%201282%204294965322% 204294965250%20900%201480&silo=1011
Do you think it's possible to get it for $28000? Sorry for such a strange question, but I have never bought a dealer used car before. Just wanted a few pointers from you fellas
wahoo84
06-01-2011, 10:50 PM
I reckon you should be able to get less than the advertised amount for that considering this dealer used one is going for only $2000 more, has less KMs AND it's a used MY09 2010 model!
http://www.carsales.com.au/all-cars/dealer/details.aspx?Cr=1&R=9567824&keywords=&trecs=36&__Ns=pCar_YearMade_Int32|1||pCar_RankSort_Int32|1| |pCar_PriceSort_Decimal|0&__sid=1298A9F6C6A1&__Nne=15&__Qpb=true&seot=1&__N=1216%201247%201252%201282%204294965250%2042949 65322%204294921591%20898&silo=1011
Check redbook http://www.redbook.com.au/used-cars/details.aspx?R=378625&__Qpb=true&Cr=8&__Ns=p_OverallGreenStarRating_Decimal|1||p_Make_St ring|0||p_Family_String|0&SearchAction=N&__N=2994%204294843458%204294956040%204294963550&silo=1300&seot=1&__Nne=15&trecs=19&__sid=12CCDA2439F0
Though the car was probably traded in for $30000 and the dealer wants to make some money out of it...
