Couple of questions regarding my 07-Jazz..

Hi all,

1. My 07 Jazz is out of warranty now.. It has almost reached 40,000km n now due for major servicing.. Honda charges almost $700 for this servicing and its too costly for me.. Is there any other servicing center where I can do for cheaper? I'm living near Forest Lake, QLD

2. I'm also planning change my current CD player and put mp3 player instead so I need 'double din console'.. I know JDMyard sells is for $195 inc postage... Seems bit costly again, is there any other cheaper place to buy this cover or is $195 is the best deal so far?

Most of the cost of 40 service come from doing the valve clearance and brake pads.

If you haven't been driving your car hard, most likely you can skip these.

You're not going to get much better than $195 unfortunately.

But you do have a few options.....

1. If you're handy then cut up your current one and custom fit it in. Worst case you "F" it up go buy the $195 one.

2. Go and get a FM transmitter and run your iPod/ iPhone through it.

3. Put the aftermarket head unit in the glovebox. You can still run both at the same time if you splice into the original speaker wires and you can connect a power switch to switch between the 2 head units.

Personally I use the FM transmitter and use an inline RCA to run a sub in mine. Because at the end of the day it's still just a Jazz.

Thanks DVS-00R for your reply.. Is there any place near Brisbane where I can do above 1 OR 3 mentioned in above post? I don't want to do it myself... If not, I'll go with FM transmitter, any good brand?

Try to find someone on honda jazz forum who sells their used double din console. Shouldn't cost you more than 100 bucks or i've seen somewhere on ebay australia ages ago, they sells only the console(without the mounting brackets and the a/c stickers and stuff) for about $130 or so. You can use you original mounting bracket and a/c sticker anyway, so it's a heaps save for you. For fm transmitter, I have belkin brand which I bought from jb hi-fi for about $80. It is not the best one out there, but still does the job. If you want to get a cheaper brand, go to ebay and you will find the best deal ever!

I also use Belkin, got a $40 one and works perfectly.
