View Full Version : Will this box fit in the back seat of an FD1 VTi-L (with or without seats folded down
I bought an HKS Hi-Power catback exhaust for my X which measures 73x16x10 (in inches), that's 186cm x 41cm x 25cm.

^ a photo someone took of the exhaust
So do you guys reckon it can fit in the back seat of the Civic FD? I'm guessing I'll need to push the back seats down, and maybe even take my subwoofer out.
Difficult to compare because my Civic is parked at my parents house ><

better to take the exhaust out of the box. less packaging. otherwise front seat down, rears down and try get it in there.

no way hosay! that's way too much junk for the fd trunk... best you take it out of the packaging and you should be rite =]

That's what made me scared when I saw this picture :(
As for the box... I'm actually getting it delivered to my office, but then I realised I only have my Evo with me nowadays so I can't fit it in the back (there's no fold-down back seat and the front Recaros barely recline) so the Civic might be the best bet.
ps. Yes I agree- messy room. Who puts an HKS exhaust in their bedroom!

remove the packaging of the HKS...it will fit. I manage to fit a entire hks exhaust system for Mazda 3 MPS in a Starlet with all seats fold down

i reckon no...
try push back seats down, push front seat all the way forward. You never know
I'm hoping I can take the parts out of the box and that'll fit into the Evo. That should help. If not, I guess I'll be trying to borrow someone's van.

Taking the exhaust out of the box will fit I reckon. I manage to fit Mazda 3 MPS exhaust into a little starlet....So chances are it will fit in fd
HKS always pack their products in oversize packaging.

no it wont...even you push the back seat down it wont go through because its too long and thick(185x25), the hole behind the seat are not big enough to change the angle of entry and the rear part of the box will seat on the rear part of the car...

put it in thru the back as far as it goes, then strap it down, and strap the boot down so it doesnt go up and down when driving.
problem solved

I've fit 2 ikea beds (unassembled) in my fd2. it will fit.
somehow.
Forgot to update everyone in this thread but basically I got it all to fit in the Evo (which doesn't have folding seats) by putting the two cannons in the boot, and the midpipe diagonally across the back with the front passenger seat pushed all the way forward. It *just* fit and was pushed up against the glass with barely enough room on both ends to put a layer or two of bubble wrap. The other challenge was the midpipe split into two (i.e. Y shape) and was a one-piece item.
Took it to my mechanic asap (BK from here actually!) and got it installed. Interestingly the factory midpipe to the muffler fit in the back a lot easier as it's slightly shorter since it goes to the muffler.
