Possible to get a EG VTI for under 10g

g'day poeple,

i m new to all this vtec power, but not new to the world of KWs :) , i m currently driving a twin HKS turbos Soarer, and i've also have the whole supra running gear ready to go in the car, but unfortunately, other plans have arised, so i m kinda "downgrading" :D . so i m in the market for a Black EG Civic VTI hatch, not worry two much about the extras, is it possible to get this car for under 10k, just thought i asked to see what u guys/girls opinion are, or whether i should look for an Si inteads.

Before I was introduced to the power/potential of Hondas, I had my heart set on a TT Soarer.. very luxurious car! =] the v8s especially!

A real top quality hatch will be difficult to find under 10, but not impossible. You will probably just have to search hard and wait around for a bit. I know a friend that just sold his for 9, but mechanically it wasn't GREAT, neither was the body (few dints and scratches).

If I were you, I wouldn't limit myself to a VTi only, the EG Civic SI produces the same power, and is a DOHC motor. They are both very *similar* and great cars. You might have more luck if you dont just limit.

the Soarer V8 has alot of options, but the GT-TLuxury is much better.

another options i was thinking is getting one smashed EG for cheap then then get the engine i want, paint the whole car if need to, and do from scratch to the way i want it. but i always have to ask mysef... do i want the headache? :D building cars are pain in the arse....

hahahahaaha (Psyklops) i m just curious, i got two mates to drives a EG Si, and GL carby, other then that i m seeing 99% of EG drivers on the street are chicks hehehe

maybe i mates are gay :D hehehe

9.5k for a 95k vti, not bad, maybe i'll be that lucky.

get a sedan... looks less chick like.. plus theres more space...... AND the VTi has REAR discs while the VTi hatch does not

it's only the GLi's and the GL and the almighty breeze that didnt have disc brakes. they had drum brakes

i aint a honda driver :p
u can pick up a good EG vti for about 10K easy.
but black is abit hard colour to find

hm..that coupe would probly be a GLi or a VTi coupe.

VITR- EM1 's go for about 20K

VTIR has the B16a
VTI has the D16y

i remember reading a thread where ppls VTi didnt have discs.... so i freaked out and checked out mine, calmed down when seeing a disc :) phew. So then i presumed that it must be the hatch VTi's that dont have discs

all EG Vti's have 4 wheel discs.

VTi Coupes have rear drums.

You can find EG VTi's udner $10k if you search around carefully.

Black is very hard to find, rarely under $10k, and usually riced.

Best to get a Red or Blue one imho, black is so overated.

i just found an EG Vti for 8k... but the owner decided not to sell it!!! arrghhh it was black and looked pretty clean...

i found it on carsales... better do some more digging.

Bennjamin, i know the answers have been answered, but wouldn't mind a littel bit of more insights into the world of honda. :)

BTW, if anyone is looking for a honda prelude 92+ shape, vtec engine conversion, rooted bottom, for 3700$ look in the sydney tradingpost. i would take it off their hand ina heart bit if this was a eg civic.

if your not worried about the engine, why not get a standard gli or something and the do a conversion to a b16a2....??

Also i would look at getting an si, even though its not a vtec it run well and is easier to make quicker than the vti.
