Ive been told its between 2300 to 300 rpm... anyone confirm?
What fuel should I use..Is there any benifits from using 98 octane?
What is the recommended oil for this car? 15-40?

thanks

VTEC X over is 4300rpm-4500rpm (Correct me if im wrong)

Have a search or a read of this:

http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?105336-Premium-unleaded-95-98-for-Jazz

unsure with oils either use the manufacturers recommendations or have a search see what other people use.

I will be looking into good oils soon as my cd5s gonna get a well deserved oil change soon. (haven't owned it for that long)

Good luck

The SOHC F22b1's have varied engagement of vtec between 2300-3200 (ecu controled depending on manifold pressure and tps signal) until you reach the rev limiter, the vtec engagement point is set so low as F22B1 is tuned for more daily used while H22A (5000rpm+ engagement point) is tuned for high performance output

As for fuel, I am using unleaded 91 only, 95, 98 is fine I believe, just do NOT go for E10 as F22B1 is NOT designed to used E10. I believe there MUST HAVE some benifits in using 98 octane.Caltex, BP, Shell etc have invested quite a few $$ into their 98 fuel and must have some unique additives in it (more power, cleaner , longevity whatever) Neverthelss if you consider the COST V.S. BENEFIT of using 98 fuel in CD5, em.....probably NOT worth the extra $$......

The manual didn't specify what kind of oil CD5 should be using, it basically said "use the correct oil based on your local temp"...... I am using Helix HX7 10-40, it feels alright, bought a few bottles in Supercheap when they are on special, $20/5 litre i think?

Oil viscosity depends the mileage your motor has done and the condition. If it is high 1xx xxx or burning oil, 20w50 is suitable, if it's in great nick 10w40/5w30. Oil brand depends on personal experience and please go semi synthetic at least and not repco special that sort of crap.

I feel 20-50 is way thick for f22b1..my motors done 220 and burning no oil at all..might try magnatec 15-40 ? Or 5-30 castrol edge?

Damn F22B1 is a strong motor, it will like the magnatec and + it's summer now.

Mine is still cracking strong even after a crash haha! I find when accelerating from low RPM the torque is quite nice and strong, then revs get to 3000 or so and it really starts to go!

Not extremely powerful but I like it. :)
