Dc2r engine light on

Hey guys my dc2r engine light turns on at times and the car idles at 1500 rpms very high compared to normal nd also the vtec will not engage when this happens just wondering if anyone would have any idea on what is goin on and if it is anything srs because when its not on the car it runs fine. cheers 4 ne help

if theres no other strange behaviour besides that, then check all the earth/ground connections under the bonnet and make sure they're all good. if that doesn't work go to the DIY section of this forum and do ECU diagnostics to get a code and it'll tell you whats throwing the light. :)
