It's fine. tyre will be flush with the rim.
People go with a 205 for some stretch.

205 wont stretch over a 7" rim unless its like 35profile

Im putting 215/45/17 onto 17x7 and did some research and it sits with no stretch. Ive currently got 205/45/17 and it doesnt really have "stretch" more of just the rim protecter from the tyre sticking out.

215/40/17 on a 17x7
I used to have 215/45/17 but rubbed the front inner guards on humps/driveways
