id say the kms are to high for its price.... but dont always go by the kms, but rather condition of the car.... But other wise, they are a solid build car, havent heard much problem with them.
Thats a really clean an nice tasteful modded prelude btw :)

nvm the lock thing, i found another one i'm looking at for tomorrow.

The guy basically (on the phone) said he changed the oil every 5000k's, has full service history, bougha few JDM parts...

This rare manual Prelude with factory leather interior is in immaculate condition. Delivered in 2000, this single owner car drives like a new car and has been lovingly maintained with a full service history. This is an amazing value car that delivers quality, reliability, style, luxury and performance.

The car has many extra genuine Honda options worth over $5,000 including - Factory leather seats (front & rear), Genuine Honda 17" rims (with approx 75% left on tyres + spare factory 16" rims), Fog lights, and Clear side indicators.

Other upgrades include - upgraded Koni Sports adjustable shock absorbers, Alpine Stereo with 3.5mm iPod socket, Upgraded front & rear speakers, Nokia Bluetooth handsfree kit & Colour coded side skirts.

if i had to get a bbs, it will only have manual tranny (semi -auto is weak as 5hit, it will blow!)

and leather (creamM) is hot has! but silver isnt preferred, i like white, dark blue, or blasck. and OEM lip kit!

The silver ones look heaps good after a bit of work. I want to get a black one with the tanned leather interior though.
How much is the seller asking for? If you don't mind me asking.

Wanted 12.75k, with 166xxx km's - a bit high... but it is in good condition (i think) Will see tomorrow really.
yeh same, silver isn't nice IMO, so boring looking.
I'll be sourcing a OEM lipkit or mugen kit if i get this - they look great.
Also might look at another set of wheels too, but we'll see - i like the DC5S wheels.

That's pricey. Maybe wait a bit because he won't sell it for that price and he might lower his price to 11.5k or something? I'm following one atm while I'm desperately trying to save and have noticed him make some considerable price drops, Preludes don't seem to sell all that well.
Get the OEM front lip, mugen sideskirts and mugen rear valance's. Look soo good.

wow that interior looks immaculate and very clean from here. but the price might be too high i reckin. ive seen a full mugen body kit on these preludes, and IMO it looks real good.

curtis265

Gooner, is that what the first prelude i poste had?

How much do you think i should ask for, without being chased out with a shotgun or paying too much?

act_gooner

Quite possibly.
This lude has the mugen skirts and rear valances

http://images.hondatuningmagazine.com/features/0610_ht_16_Z+1997_Honda_Prelude+rear_side_parked.j pg

I don't reckon I'd pay over 11k for a Prelude. Unless it had some serious work done to it like the above one.

for 11k you could also consider an EM1. there good looking as well..

MWAKU

sold mine for 12,500.

i wouldnt pay more then 10k for one now. that color looks like that mystic blue or whatever it is rather then silver but doesnt change anything. honestly wouldn't buy a silver bb6, nor green or blue.... only black or white. but thats my opinion.

and his asking for a lot. but as you would selling a car. go there with 10k. but yeah, see how flexible he is.

but yeah.. man i miss mine, **** im sad LOL. everytime i see a bb6, i always pay my tribute :P

mwaku.. your bb6 was excellent... just needed a flutter and your set.. plus more low.. and some mudflaps

curtis265
10-11-2010, 12:34 AM
mwaku that's hell nice!

It looks like light blue to me too, i thought my eyes were just tricking me...

in fact it might be enough to sway me when i see it tomorrow :(

any 5thgen specific problems to look out for?

tiah313
10-11-2010, 08:38 AM
12.75 is abit pricey, however that might be the price in perth dont know, but that interior does make it value more than other ludes. its up to your personal taste, every colour can be mod up nicely, 166000ks is fine if only he can provide service book with history

MWAKU
10-11-2010, 09:58 AM
cant fit mudflaps with the full lip kit installed. unless u ghetto and drill ur own holes. and it'll scrape nways, car was heaps low **** that low more lol.

not many 5the gen specific problems unless its auto lol. just check it like you would a normal car. check if cruise control works? cause sometimes that gets bodged but really nothing major.

curtis265
10-11-2010, 10:06 AM
Thanks guys. I guess i'll go check through everything first - today's not a scrutiny, more of a 'see if i like it'. Will take a few pix perhaps and let you know how it goes.

obtw i hate auto, so no chance i'll get anything else. Looks like i'll just keep looking if i don't like the silver/homo-blue one

I think that white lude had that same front bumper as you did. Still pooping myself over it for not acting on it faster :(

Just test drove that bluey silver one.

It's called 'crystal silver' colour. very close to new condition, the tan leather is really nice, has that slight blue colour... but it'll grlow on me - i drive a FD of tht colour anyway

166xxx km is a bit high, the guy was on the dot with servicing and has full history and kept all the service.

Felt nice to play with vtec too.

ahh tell me about it - sometimes i wish i was an east-sider. The only advancement we ever get here is more advanced speed cameras..

anyway guys, the guy's got this file, full of every service reciept, screenshots and infosheets/ DIY instructions and PDF's of TSB manuals etc of all the stuff he bought for the car - JDM H22a4 air intake, JDM clear side indicators, JDM fogs etc. Sounded weird listening to a guy of that age saying JDM so much.

But i could tell he was truly passionate about his car.

Saint, what do you think of this one?

MWAKU

it looks pretty clean

and to clear it up about the gearboxes, its the pre-99 model semi-automatic gearboxes that tend to shit themselves

they were designed poorly, and hence when the gearbox is under a lot of load, it doesn't disperse the heat well enough? so it ****s up.

Had a look at BB6's from WA on carsales today when I was procrastinating, uni work = bleh. They were a lot more expensive than the ones in NSW. They looked like they were in good condition though. A lot of the ones in NSW are in pretty bad nick.
Is this car going to be your daily? You said you have an fd. I think that silver Prelude looks clean as.

curtis265
11-11-2010, 12:08 AM
Yes i do, but it's my parent's car that i've been using for my uni on a daily basis. They don't mind but i think it's about time i get my own . My sister started learning and all, so i found an EG3 my parent's behalf. My mum thinks it's a shitbox and wants to get rid of it (it's in mint condition apart from a few faded panels, i swear!!)... so i suggested the ide aof getting my own car.

so i started looking around everywhere for things that i could afford to insure, which meant no turbos, no type R's etc..they just don't seem to want to cover me for full comp... and then preludes really started to grow on me

This car was just too hard to pass up.
