hi everyone, i am new on this forum :)

can i know anyone who did change the final drive on dc5r ?

i am gonna change it and want to know more information ...

i am running a bit more than 3k rpm at 100km/h on 6th gear with stock final drive which is 4.7

if i change a bigger one just like j's racing 5.125, spoon 5.1, m&m 5.01 ... how many rpm will raise up when i still doing 100km/h on 6th gear ?

1st gear --- 0-~60
2nd gear -- 61-~96
3rd gear -- 97-~130
4th gear--- 131-~160

this is what i saw from the meter approximately (my engine is stock and the fuel cut at 8K)
can someone give me a hand and tell me the speed range on each gear on bigger final drive .. j's racing 5.125, spoon 5.1, m&m 5.01 etc ...

thx !!

really 8000 rpm only?, i thought they would be the same as the Type-S 8600 rpm cut off

Fuel Cut off on a DC5R Stock... is 7800rpm from memory when my car was stock... someone correct me if im wrong.
With an exhaust system and INJEN CAI (without Tuning) will push it back to about 8200rpm roughly.
How do i know? That's the setup i currently have on my car and have noticed that the rpm needle goes over the red rpm to 8200rpm.

If you have time OP, find out what the current gear ratio's are for an AUDM DC5R, plug them into the below graph, and it should give you a good idea what RPM you'll be at, at any speed, in any gear. You'll also be able to find out how much of a change each final drive gives. Once you've done that can you post the results up here... as I'd also like to see them.

Gear ration graph (http://www.johnmaherracing.co.uk/gearcalc.htm)
How to use above graph (http://kseries-tech.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=227)

Just as a side note, changing the final drive in a DC5R can be a very expensive exercise. Just to remove and reinstall a gear box is an 8 hour process, so unless you are also changing clutch and fly wheel (Which is also worth while), I honestly wouldn't really bother just changing the final drive.

Watajk - Redline in a DC5R (K20a2) is 7800. Fuel cut off is 8200. Adding an exhuast and intake isn't going to change the fuel cut off is as it is a electronic limitation. You would have to be running an aftermarket computer to change the fuel cut off.

What difference does an INJEN CAI make to an RPM cutoff...hahahhaha. You probably didnt push your DC5R like how it should to 8200 when you had it stock.

Still all im saying compared to a stock Type-S its at an unbelievable 8600 rpm cutoff, reminds me of the JDM Type-R engine.

Well in my eyes if you look at the DC5R RPM guage, redline is at 7800rpm.
Well i can honestly say my redline is between 8200-8500 without tuning with just the 2 bolt on modifications.
You have problems my friend...

You and this JDM Type R non-sense really has to stop, if you want a JDM DC5R, go ****ing find one sigh

...thats it get pumped up.

Hahahaha no need to get upset buddy, whats with your attitude and swearing mate? have i touched a nerve?
A member made it clear that a stock DC5 redline is at 7800rpm and fuel cuts off at 8200rpm, where the hell are you getting 8500rpm. You are way too delusional for this thread. LMFAO

There must be something wrong with your eyes then, maybe you should take you're gauges to an "auto electrician" like you always do and get it fixed, hahhahahhahah
