Hi guys,

I've only recently purchased my first Honda, and am curious what all the CL and CU talk is?

Can someone please enlighten me :O

I think you get the difference... I don't know too much about the Honda Accord, but I think there was a CL7 too, which (i think) was a pre-facelift model of Cl9.

CL7 was not the pre-facelift model of the CL9, it was the Accord Euro-R which we never got here in Australia :)

Basically in a nutshell:
CL9 - 2003 to 2008 May (2.4L)
CU2 - 2008 June to now (2.4L)

The CL7 is a 2.0L version of the CL9 which we never got. It includes both the base model Euro and the higher performance Euro-R.

Haha well what I said isn't entirely correct either, as the CL7 doesn't have to be the Euro-R (which is the CL7R) there also is just a normal 2 litre CL7 euro as Aarong mentioned :)

However, most people refer to the Euro-R as the CL7.

Yeah, I am very confusing :D

Oh, and congratulations on your purchase! They are fantastic cars, and I still miss my CL9, even though I got CU2.

CU2 if you don't plan on modding, CL9 all the way you want to.

Performance: Intake/Headers/Exhaust, ECU

Handling: Rear Sway Bar/Coilovers etc

Handling mods are more fun, not sure how much its worth chasing performance in a Euro unless you supercharge it :P but a CAI does give an awesome sound!

Cosmetic mods only maybe. The CU2 is a nice car but compared to the CL9 it doesn't really have that much modding potential imo. You can't install headers for one which is the area for the biggest performance gain. The reason for this is because there isn't a CL7 equivalent for the CU2 so there really aren't any real performance parts available.
