hi guys :)

now as some of you may know my car has been sitting for about 6 months.

i started it up today. and let it warm up and checked everything oil water made sure everything was in order.

as i gave it a little rev it was ok. but up high around 8k it dies out wont rev any higher but lots of black smoke. (over fueling). so i drove it a bit more still struggling, a couple of times it hit 9 grand but you could feel it didnt want to rev that high.

just wondering what it may be.

the hondata flashes red every few seconds? is this normal?
i have changed plugs to irridiums about 500km ago.

just wanting to know some possibilities here. im hoping its the fuel thats been sitting.

Hey,

a freind of mine had a simular issue on his VTiR DC2 and it was the "Car Battery". All he did was tighten up the Negative Terminal as it was very loose and did not give full earth, so give that a check.

Good luck

how many k's have you done since you started driving it again? might just need a couple of decent drives.
Bad fuel is definitely a possibility... 6 months is a while.
Open your bonnet and pull out the 7.5 amp backup fuse, wait a few seconds and put it back in. Should clear any codes stored.
Straight after you changed the plugs did you have this problem? process of elimination is the best way i guess.

it sound like an ignition problem. If you've changed ur plugs then cleck the leads and then ignitor

thread can be closed now. issue was in fact a dodgy earth from battery to chassis
