View Full Version : Bumpy!

I have a 2006 euro with 120k kms, it is noticeably more harsh than any other car I've owned. I understand that the euro is a sport sedan, but having the entire car and my body and steering lift and drop with a high frequency and rather abrupt bumpiness is not at all what I expected.
Is there anything wrong with the car? Probably I will take a dealer technician on a road test later.
Is there anything wrong with the drive shaft? absorber? wheel balance?alignment? tyre?
I appreciate for you help.

I'd look at your tyre pressures first.Set them at 34-36PSI.Then shocks, with 120Ks maybe they are on the way out.

What car are you comparing it to?
Stock car with 16" rims? Go with 33 front and 32 rear. Some tire shops tend to pump higher presure.

Werd!
I'd try a suspension specialist like pedders, rather than the dealer Bobcool.

Ir depends on what car you came from.
If your previous ride was a Lexus and you jumped into a Euro, yes, it will seem like a harsh ride.
Best thing to do is to eliminate any variables. Try and drive another Euro to see how the ride and NVH compares to your own car. You could do this by booking a test drive of a similar year Euro from a used car yard.
After you do that, you'll be able to work out quite quickly whether it's just the inherent characteristics of the Euro that you find too much or whether it's a problem specific to your own car.

Thanks for suggestions, I will do that today and update my feeling later.

You seems to be avoiding the question what car you are comparing the Euro with....

After driving another euro for a while, I find it's not the problem of suspension at all.
MY car comes with serious vibration problem.
At this stage, since I have check engine mount, wheel balance, I am pretty sure it's the problem of drive shafts.
I am going to take it back to dealer and hopefully they can fix it.
thx guys.

What kind of vibration? from driving high speed and slowing down?
if yes this had been discussed before, check your shafts as they wear out like CRVs
or check your tyre size+wheel balancing or check your break pads/discs probably needs
some service
