DC5R Boot release

Hi All,

My central locking has died and i cant open my booT!! even from drivers side door. I need to take some stuff out the boot before i can get it repaired, is there an emergency latch if any of this fails?

Pull down the seats. If you have a look closely there is a cover that you can pull off on the inside of the tailgate. its right above the lock. Take it off. You should see the lock mechanism, now what you wanna do here now is move the white stick. Your probably thinking wtf, but its hard to describe. when you look at the lock mech it should be on the left, its white and on the end it is rounded. move that left or right i forget which direction but your boot should then be able to unlock from the outside. however it will not lock unless you pull down the seats and move the white stick to the lock position. I had this happen to my dc5r. the only way to fix it is to buy a new or second hand one as the motor is fried. If your in Sydney call Hontoys. I got mine from this guy Richo but he wanted 200 for it initially. WTF. no way. bargain him down to like 70 cause thats what i paid for mine. im not a cheap arse its a reasonable price. for 200 I expect a brand new spanking central locking system. Goodluck, I remember it being a B!TCH when i had this issue.
