good enough for track
Cusco, GAB and HKS are some other options on coilover

If you are going to drive the Jazz on the street with the Teins, I hope you have a good Chiropractor

Ahh yes...I do have them in my car :) Best single mod I have done to the car (cost no object)

Don't be put off by the general concensus that all TEINs are rack hard....most of them are I agree, but not the Super Wagons. It is a completely different class of damper set up more on the street side of things rather than outright track use.

I have my dampening set on about 12clicks I think (1 being the softest and I think it's about 30 being the firmest) and it offers a very compliant ride. The fact that mine is quite low would make you think it's going to be a bone-jarring experience, but nothing can be further from the truth. It offers outstanding performance for everyday hooning around the streets and if you were to firm it up even more it would be more than capable on the track (even with my current setup it would be fine for the track).

Not one person has complained about the ride quality (not even the wife) and most people who have been in it (who have a slight interest in cars/mods) a very impressed with the handling/ride. Petrovski took the car for a spin and he was hooked on them!

SO GO GET SOME!

out of interest jus10 how low have you set your teins from the standard ride height? i have a set of these ready to go into the fit, plan to drop 40mm :p

terris08
25-05-2005, 07:33 PM
I thought only the Tein Type Wagon can be fitted onto a Fit/Jazz. Is Super Wagon also OK?? What are the main differences betweent the two?

Jus-10
26-05-2005, 02:18 PM
My car is about 2inches 50mm lower than standard...maybe a bit more, though I am not 100% sure o nthe exact amount.

The difference with the SuperWagon is they have dampening adjustment as well as height adjustment as opposed to the standard Wagons which are only height adjustable.

Jus-10

Sorry double post

panda
26-05-2005, 03:25 PM
so how the find that height for daily driving? i assume you are using your stock bumper, any scrapages?

Jus-10
26-05-2005, 03:29 PM
No scrapes.....ever

I have always had pretty low cars though, so I always take it easy with driveways, speed humps, etc.

I have my dampening set on about 12clicks I think (1 being the softest and I think it's about 30 being the firmest) and it offers a very compliant ride.

So what's the range of height adjustment available and what do you have yours set at?

height adjustment...hmmmm

Well I can still go about another 1 inch lower I would say. So going off my guesstimate you can lower a max of about 3.5inches over stock.

I think they have the actual specs on the Tein site if my memory serves me correctly, though I can't remember what they are off the top of my head.

It is a good stuff, I used to have them in my previous car. It was a bit hard and bumpy but car handling really well.

Jus-10, you have a place where you upload pics of your car? I kinda would like to see with 2~inches lower than stock, what it would look like. Plus I know you have nice wheels and I have never got the chance to see them ^^

Any problems with your installation? i assume you had it done at a shop

Jus-10
01-06-2005, 09:06 PM
Yeah I had it done at a shop, but it is pretty straight forward.

Just make sure you get them to adjust the front stabliser bar (it only seems to be on the front passenger side)....if they don't, it will knock

Bel should be able to adjust the stabliser bar....just make sure you remind them to do it at the time.

I only found out about it recently after a mate had the same knocking problem....apparently it is like a 10 second job!

Then that's OK panda. If it's not knocking don't worry about it.

It's nothing major anyway.

and I personally don't know how to do it because I haven't looked yet...but I have been told it is very simple

petrovski
11-06-2005, 12:42 PM
you need an allen key (spelling??) and a spanner and turn full lock to the side you r doing it (i think its one way) bc you have to reach in front of the wheel to get to it. It took the guy literally 10 secs on the ground.

however i have no idea where it is exactly :(

Pete :)

terris08
12-06-2005, 05:39 PM
What would happen if the height (ground clearance) on the left is different from that of the right side of the car? Say if by making a careless mistake in which left side lowered by 40mm and right side lowered by just 30mm.....

Do we have to have the wheels aligned everytime we adjust the height of the coilover?

panda
12-06-2005, 05:54 PM
interesting you say that, before i even installed my coilovers my right rear side was 1 ½ cm lower than the rest of the car, the wheel shop couldnt find the problem so ive compensated by raising the height of my coilover for that wheel only to match the height of the others, but doesnt feel right

terris08
12-06-2005, 06:00 PM
You said the tyre shop couldn't find the problem, are you talking about the problem which one of the rear coilover was shorter than the rest.....how come they coundn't find the problem?
.....but if there any real real negative effects?

panda
12-06-2005, 06:05 PM
no the problem is not the coilover, i measure heights on all 4 corners before i put in the teins and the right rear side was 1 ½ cm lower than the rest

maybe that rear arm is not straight

If you lower the jazz enough there is a bar of some sort you have to adjust because if you dont it makes a knocking sound.

camber doesnt have to be adjusted . . . however ive got teh pedders camber kit on mine set to 1.25 (maximum i can get apparently) degrees either side

jazzle: no with the height i've set the Tein Super Wagons I didn't have to adjust the stabilizer bar (by the way the height of my Jazz is according to specifications on the Tein instruction sheet.)... There is no knocking sound what so ever. You get the knocking sound when you lower the Jazz tooooo much. I just got my Jazz aligned in Bob Jane that's it.
