View Full Version : Jazz major service overcharging?
I have Jazz '06 CVT due for service in Adelaide. It's a major service 160,000kms. Price quoted for that is $745 and an extra: a CVT oil flush and replace is $265. Does that sound right to regulars on here? Isn't the special Honda tran. oil only $80 or so and I could do it myself? Can anyone recommend a non Honda dealer?

Every 40,000kms is major service for Honda...for jazz they will do engine oil,CVT fluid change and valve clearnace adjustment. $750 is the ball park...

ACE888 dont be a dick over a major service price at a honda dealership. Have u looked at the prices of running all other types of cars over 160000km including break downs. And for all the garages that do it a lot cheaper lets see how a dealership serviced car compares to a cheapo service centre.
You could always try Moto Rossi in Klemzig or Honda City in Beverly, both are honda service specialists....but those prices sound right....i'm glad you got that far without any major issues
im gonna get me 90k done soon. how much are regular services gonna be?

that gives you a ballpark figure.
BTW, if your car is not under warranty, get a quote from non-dealer honda service specialists, theres 2 in sydney, one in hornsby and one near surry hills, but their names escape me.

Bottle of Castrol Edge Sport 5w-30 is plenty for the Jazz :-) (it's like $44 when on special, 5 ltr)
Or if you are in sydney. $40 for 6 bottles of Formula Shell Full Synthetic (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Formula-Shell-Full-Synthetic-Engine-Oil-5W30-6-Quart-/170471317627?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27b0e1e07b) (5 bottles for oil change, 1 bottle for top up)

Jazz uses timing chains so its not really much of a major service. You just need to change sparks, oil, filters and top up fluids then inspect a few things...

Minor service as in just a Oil + Filter change? If ya DIY it will cost ya $50 for Honda FEO & Filter.
but if you want logbooks filed call Hannies @ Smithfield. They are Honda specialists. I think they quoted me $120-$150 if i recall.
