Hey guys, name's andy and i live in south west syd, turned 18 recently and about to go for my red P's (i know, i delayed them so bad :( auto btw)
I'm sort of new to cars in general, well i know the general stuff. Anyway, I was looking at buying a DC2, well it's got 180,000kms on it already so my friends have gone against it. Is that too much? I don't know how long I'll have it but probably for less than 2 years.
I've seen an EG still in use with 250,000kms on it, so i'm still fairly persistent on buying this dc2.
Also, should I be posting stuff on buying a car in the DC2 forums? LOL

Hey Andy and Welcome to Ozhonda.
you will find this site to be very useful and entertaining.
all in all its up to you but depending what eg civic it is i think the dc2 (assuming you mean DC2 vtir) is better and the kms dont matter that much if it has been serviced correctly with the right fluids every 5000-10000km's
i only have a DC4 (Gsi) and even that is a great little car.

Oh thanks, I think the one i've been looking at is the dc4 ahah sorry, i'm so used to thinking integras are either dc2/5 :$ how is fuel consumption with it? Since I'm young i dont think i'll can afford much petrol

im only 18 too ...well actually 19 soon but really depends...mine does about 430kms around town but on the highway about 650kms....using 98 wether its shell v power or caltex vortex...same diff....but my car is also auto so if yours is manual then you should be able to get more km's to the tank...
its a great little cruiser with some power if you want it

Oh thats cool lol yeah mine would be auto, since I don't have a car to practice manual with.
I'm pretty set on getting one, which engine does it come with though?

it comes with the b18b2...DOHC non vtec making 107kilowatts at the fly standard...
mine makes after a couple of small things about 95-100kw at the wheels

Think he might have had a 'TYPO' there boys.. He tends to do ALOT of those..
I think the figures he was trying to say was 95~110hp.. Unless ofcourse Timmy you are correct and he has wasted money yet again and bought a Turbo or Supercharger for it..
Anyways onetwo welcome, do some research before you buy buddy.

I don't think it was a typo, because it does indeed make 107 kw at the fly, standard. and he wouldn't have swapped between kw and hp after already accurately quoting its power in kw.
for the record, if i was to have a rough guess, it would be more like 80fwkw - but dyno it and find out for sure
Not having a go at you sam, just don't want onetwo to have unrealistic expectations

well fair enough but it kept up and sometimes beat chris's ex civic which had 100kw...from what he said
but OP you should come out for a drive sometime
