Time for noob question of the month!

I've had HID's installed for a while, and my Hi-beam's (when they are not on) still emit that yellow light (obviously because I have not changed them).. but when i look around I cant really seem to find a HID kit which lets me change both? (or ive missed something obvious).

So my question is, can I make both my Hi and Low beam (2 sets of headlights) HID's without replacing my lighting fixtures all together?

Thanks

What type of bulb does your headlights use?
Are low and high separate bulbs or the same bulb for both high and low?

why would you want to waste money on a high beam HID kit? you don't use that as often, it takes a while for it to warm up to use as well, so its only beneficial if you keep it on for country driving?

if you want to change it anyway, just buy another HID kit for the high beams

bludger: Hi and low beam are separate bulbs, if it makes a difference i know the low are the hb4/9006 and i think the high beam are the hb3

stig: more for look.. ill take a photo tonight and u'll see what i mean

if you have plastic headlights your high beam will melt the housing if on long enough :)

100% don't bother.

u can't flash ur highbeams cos they won't be charged. and you hardly use ur highbeams anyway.

IMO Go for just a 'white coloured' bulb.

oh and, phillips don't make 6000k bulbs :)

Um, what ? You call 5~6 seconds a while ? I guess in a sense where you need to flash someone, than that's reasonable, no time to wait!

You need to buy a specific kit like the one's used to HB4 bulb sizes for the DC2 since there are 2 seperate bulbs.

There are specific kits out there that accomodate 2 bulbs per harness, if you were to run 2 kits totally, good luck in hiding all that wiring!

Agree with Curtis on this one, definitely don't get HID for highbeams, waste of money. Invest in a decent set for the low beams instead.

HID for fogs also gains too much attention (esp. with the cops) so I'd try and refrain from that.

As for the low beams... 5000-6000k looks great and doesn't sacrifice visibility.

again i agree......unless u do alot/majority of country driving at night time then i wouldn't bother changing the high beams at all
