Hey guys,

Got an MY06 FD1 civic 5MT VTI sedan and for some reason, the button the handbrake lever is sticking in the depressed position.

if I let the handbrake drop to the resting position, the jolt is enough to release the button, after which the handbrake works until the button is pushed again. By this, I mean if you lift the lever the handbrake clicks into position and holds, but push the button to release and the button sticks in.

Has anybody seen this before and if so is it easily fixed? Can I just spray some WD40 (or the like) down the button end of the handbrake lever to "lube" it up?

Thanks for any assistance, I was just about to start getting the car ready to sell and this goes and happens to me :(
