hey guys my names chris im recently new to this honda forum, i own a white 1993 honda prelude Si. when i first got my lude it was completely stock and in pretty good condition, im sure we all know how that looks. when i first got the car i didnt really know much difference between models and was pretty hyped up on just getting a prelude at all. over time i came to realise that maybe i should have stuck at it for a while longer to find a reasonable vtec, but settled for a Si, which in all honesty is still pretty good for my liking.

ive had the car now for just about 3 years, but it wasnt until after the first 1.5 to 2 years of owning it that i decided to make any actual improvements in appearance. in all honesty im pretty content with the performance of the car and havent really found the need to invest in any performance mods.

the very first thing i did not long after i got the car was get a muffler put on, i wanted to give it a beefy sound lol not long after that i removed my spoiler and filled in the holes with some white painted rubber gromets. after this i made an attempt at tinting my tail lights and front and side indicators using the VHT Night Shades spray. they came out pretty good and i was liking the look of them...up until i got pulled over by highway patrol on my way up to rye start of the year and copped a defect notice because apparently there was insufficent light coming through so anyways took those back to stock.

but anyways im getting ahead of myself now. soon after tinting my lights, i read up about DIY wheel painting, and after thinking about it long enough, i painted my stock rims gloss black, leaving a small silver rim around the edge of the wheel. in my opinion they came up pretty good, and ive even recieved pm's asking how i did it because others wanted to do theirs the same that seemed like a pat on the back for me haha

the next thing i did after this was colour coded my stock front and side skirts and mud flaps, which after painting my wheels, seemed fairly simple.

after these few little projects i was fairly happy with the look of my car now, and thought it was about time to change my interior, make it stand out a bit more. i decided to look into dying the fabric inserts in the door trim and floor mats red as ive always loved the look of a red on black interior. for this idea everything seemed pretty straight forward, so i set out to my local supercheap auto, picked up a few cans of vinyl/carpet dye, and went to work. the end result turned out fairly good i think considering the reasonbly cheap price of doing it myself. as well as this, later on i also decided to paint the pocket moulds on the inside of the door handle, and mould which holds the window switches to a nice dark silver, i pretty small change but i think i made noticeable difference.

after all of this i decided to leave things the way they were for a while....

these photos are a few from when i went for a drive up to marysville with a couple of mates, was a great drive and a great day

the photos above include the new lip which im next to mention lol

and then i changed my mind lol next i was in search of a front lip, as i had seen some great ludes in the forum here with some quality lips and decided i wanted one for myself. anyways i searched around for a while, and even got my mate interested enough to start searching round the net for one as well. it wasnt long before we found one in the states which i had become pretty keen on. initially before this i was set on getting a topstage lip, but that was only until i came across this one. so anyways ordered it, and upon arrival, i went straight into painting mode, and colour coded it frost white. soon as that was done i fitted it straight away and loved the look of it.

One of my mates how owns a supra was wanting to put in a stock air filter for his car and in doing so gave me his HKS mushroom filter.

after a night out with a mate who had recently installed a single din fold out dvd/cd/mp3 player in his car which he purchased from his work i started talking to him about getting one myself, except a double din. not after long we went into his work so i could have a look at a few of the models they had and was able to pick up a response double din dvd/cd/mp3 player for farily cheap as my mate gave me a staff discount of 50% GREAT SUCCESS haha

that afternoon we instantly went back to my place and started installing. luckily my mate is pretty good with electronics and was able to do it all himself as im fairly useless when it comes to that kind of stuff lol i like to think i helped but in reality i no i was just a spectator haha

after searching around the parts for sale page i came across some side skirts and EL white face gauge for sale from xmkydx. after picking these up within the week i instantly resprayed the skirts and then installed the both of them and felt they gave my lude a great new look

this picture was taken with the new rims on

again whilst searching through the parts for sale page i came across a magnaflow twin tip exhaust from egotzm and instantly snatched it up. when i took this to my gf's uncle who's a mechanic to put on he also happily convinced my to put in a straight pipe. after doing so i now love the sound of my car, its competely different to before when accelerating, its got a nice sharp, loud, raspy note.

the next thing i managed to get my hands on was a set of 17" kobe Viz 5 shadow chrome rims thanks leo_fio these have added a far better look to my lude

the latest and last thing ive done has been to rethink the entire look of my car and change the lip kit to an entire accord cd5 kit. so far ive only taken off my side skirts and put on a rear accord lip colour coded frost white. but i plan on getting the side skirts next, and then the front lip last.

ive kind of gone back to thinking a more clean stockish look is best.

today was my most recent update, i managed to pick up these red/black bucket seats off a preludeaustralia member :D cant wait to put them in this weekend :D

if anyone is interested because of the recent change in mind im now selling my side skirts ($100) front lip ($150) and stock painted wheels all with good tread although 1 is flat will need to be repaired ($250). negotiable.
