Hi guys
my friend's honda Jazz has a little problem.
accelerating from start make vibration noise.
It feels like gears free spinning and car doesn't take off as normally.
Exact same thing happen to my previous Jazz before but I can't remember what the problem was.
Can someone please advise me what the problem is.
thanks very much
Hi Mate,
i think from memory you need to replace the CVT fluid or CVT recalibration. anyone else confirm?

Agreed, it's a sign to replace the CVT fluid... and do it ASAP... :S
just go to Honda and check

This happened to our Jazz before. Honda changed the fluid which fixes most of the issues on most cars, however for ours after a while it started shuddering and making grinding noises 2 days out of warranty. Honda replaced it under warranty for us anyway. They had to order a whole new gearbox from Japan. Go get it serviced ASAP! Very common on the Jazz's.

Not sure. Very expensive but we got it changed under warranty even though it was out. Honda = Awesome =]

It is not a major concern, if you experience the shudder. 1 or 2 flushes of CVTF with the correct procedure should fix the shudder. In a worser case scenario only a start clutch ( yes 7spd auto) has to be replaced.

Mine vibrated pretty bad at around 2k rpm also under light acceleration but ones it got to a higher speed it stopped. Only happened when i accelerate. It was because i had a broken engine mount. Check your mounts. But its most likely the CVT.

Have this with mine asked honda and they said it was nothing, eventually it got worse.
car shutters when taking off with foot down, result i have to accelerate slowly.
honda finally admitted to the problem being theres but refuse to fix it claiming it happened outside of the warranty time limit...
all they would agree to was changing the oil...
Edit:
My car is GD3, so they were slow to pick it up, shutter is arnd 10-20km mark so i cant accelerate till after the car has slowly increased over that speed.

I had this problem too.
I flushed my CVT fluid and most of the shuddering went away and no longer felt slipping while revving through the gears.
It still had abit of slipping and shudders when taking off - it turned out to be broken engine mounts.
I had them replaced today and my car is back to normal!

Go to your local mechanic. They can check it out for you. I looked at my mounts and saw it was broken, and mine was stuttering real bad when mine was broken. Cost me about $120 for the mount from honda and $90 to get it installed

everytime i get it changed it happens in like another 2,000 km and its shuttering again, i think the actual start clutch is damaged on my 03 model.
