Hi Guys,

Wondering if anyone has done this?
If so what would be the process in doing it from the moment I purchase the car?

Thanks

never done it.

dealing with it logically I would........

Contact WA roads and transport authority, cancel registration and get back the remaining amount of money from the cancelled registration (pro rated)

Move car to NSW

Contact NSW RTA and ask them the steps you need to take to register your car.

to register in nsw u would need proof of ownership and you would also need a blueslip, once you got them two go to the rta for registration.

before you buy the car run a vin check with nsw rta to see if you car rego the car in nsw
saves alot of hassles later
rest is easy to do

^ good point Lan, there are instances where the car cannot be registered in NSW as it may have been a total loss then moved interstate

other than that as Grifty said above you need to get a blue Slip inspection report, you need to buy a Green Slip, thn go to the RTA with proof of ownership, fill out an Application for Registration and they will give you new plate.

If buying an Australian delivered car:
1. Proof of purchase
2. Blue slip
3. green slip
4. Rego form in RTA
If buying imports from interstate (be careful):
1. Check VIN with DOLLARS and see if it has IMPORT APPROVAL NUMBER
(if no approval, then there's no compliance... probably a grey import)
2. Compliance paper that say it meets ADR standards... or else they will ask for an engineer cert.
(I paid @ $600-700 awhile back.)
3. Follow Step 1 to 4 from above.
Good luck!
