hey guys.

when i bought my car it had a pioneer Head unit in it so the steering controls are now useless.
as i love the idea of having the head unit hidden i was happy that when i purchased the car it also came with the original head unit (stacker still in boot). the guy i bought it off said the original loom was still behind there so i assumed he bought a loom plug kit which was easy as its a straight swap.

so when i removed the pioneer i found they had cut the loom, removed the original plug and re wired it to the pioneer wiring. pissed off i went to the wrecker and found a loom from an Aus Delivered s2000
got home and pulled the head unit out again to find its way way different to whats behind the dash.

as it cost me 35 bones im a little annoyed. there are extra wires on this loom and different colours.
the plug does match my original head unit but the wires dont.

would anyone be able to take a photo of their loom with plug and colours so i can see if i can make this work somehow?

or do you have a loom/plug which you have removed from a 2000mdl AP1 which you would sell me?

if your pioneer head unit has a remote input, you can run in modifry's DCI (dash control interface) to use the steering controls.

well worth the 90 or so bucks... and any headunit is better than the stock one... haha

does it work as a joiner between the original loom and the head unit?

or do you wire it in?
as i dont have the original plug anymore.

Agreed. Use the modifry DCI. Depending on the model of the HU, you can either get a plug in one or an infrared one (wider compatibility incase you upgrade)... the DCI links up to your steering controls so you can use them again with aftermarket HU.

the wired one is only compatible with headunits that have a connection for a remote in the back... i have found that with the pioneer head units only the higher end models have this so you have to pay a bit more.

with the infra red one, there will be a little receiver that sticks out somewhere, i am not sure how noticeable this is as i went with the wired option.

Wired is the better option if your head unit supports it. Otherwise IR.

ok great thanks guys appreciate it.

I emailed modifry and they said my head unit had a steering remote and its compatible. which is good news.

now i gotta see if this meant it works on the wired which i would prefer then ;D

EDIT: Confirmed i can get the wired one, weee! Just ordered.

^^ How much was it out of curiosity? PM if it's a secret.

costs $95.** USD shipped.
Not in a rush to get it, it was like $90 without shipping.
You can pay $30 for express shipping.

After reading peoples comment, and having the function there not being used i think its going to be worth the $ easily!

I just went to the modifry website > and did the step by step purchase guide

When i get it ill see if i can do a DIY, although i would probably use this :

hoping my LED dash bulbs come in too. so i can do it all the same time.

Just a heads up, the PC99-X61 adapter on eBay does the same thing for $40 delivered if I'm not mistaken. mine is on the way so I can confirm it when I get it.

Looks like it does the basics but the Modifry DCI does so much more. It has speed dependent volume control and track bac and forwards via multiple key presses.

Not sure I'd buy from a company that obviously doesn't know the S2000 (non-BOSE?).

haha very true... I'll see what happens when it arrives. definitely wont be as good as the DCI then, but good enough if it works
