Thats for a CU2, and form the pic's it's Chinese made, not that it's a problem but I have doubts the GPS will actually work, since on ebay the map for gps is for a city in China...
and for where the screen is in CU2... can you actually reach that touch screen?

At the bottom of the page it says they offer Australia GPS region maps for free. Although you make a good point that its not in a very good position for a tough screen being that far back. I have heard a lot of people use these without any issues on forums. Although personally I would get a 2DIN fascia kit and get a brand name gps/video unit off ebay.

I agree that it is quite far back. Would it work with existing navigation button on the existing radio? 2din wouldn't be so good as cu2 don't have 2din available. Only can have single din. In addition, I think the screen on that position is the best location for both gps n movie. The only worry is the quality and compatibility plus will it give problem to exisiting head unit and air cond. And finally doesn anyone ever open cu2 dashboard to install this unit?

I would think any car audio shop can do it. I can do it too as long as we can open the dashboard hahaha

Dont buy anything Chinese, my 2 cents. I bought aftermarket headlights that were chinese made and the plastic is already starting to melt. I dont use HID's just normal bulbs. Never buying chinese ever again.

I remember a member had bought these:
http://www.ozhonda.com/forum/showthread.php?113016-cu2-mods&p=2723645&viewfull=1#post2723645

Not sure how they went as I can't recall anything else said about them. Seems like it works?

Hi Guys,

the gps unit is good so far.

all buttons on the wheel is working when I using original audio (radio, cd player). and you can not use track button only when using music or dvd player in gps unit.

the quality is not good as it made in china. and i can see climate control/volume screen during the gps working or playing dvd player once you changing it.

Hi escape27, thank you for your info. How do you type the address or make selection on gps? Is it by touch screen only or you can use the navigation button(select, push, enter button/knob) as well?

When you say quality is not good, do you mind explaining on which part of the quality? Workmanship? Or there are bugs in the software? Or not reliable?

Hey ichiban, I am still waiting for escape to comment on the quality. If overall quality is okay to me, I might get it otherwise I have to give it a pass :)

tonymulia have you considered an iPad or similar type of device?

Touchscreen with similar functions too! I'm using one currently with the missus holding onto it - works for GPS and movies etc. Though don't watch movies when you're driving.

That's what I am doing now but not with iPad instead iPhone hahahaha and iPad is too big for the current display location ;) (sometimes only by myself)
Or may be it might be good to find a bigger device than iPhone but smaller that iPad so that can see the map easier eh :)

only touch screen for gps and other funciton. quality for overall is ok if you are not sensitive person. the os is not perfect (windows mobile).
but it will be reboot by itself. only you can see just blink screen less than 2sec some time(during rebooting)
and reverse camera is not perfect matchin on CU2 when I bought it.
they said it is for CU2. but I think it is for CL7 not CU2. but can fit on CU2 with small modify
finally every one said the screen is quite far. I can't touch during driving

Thank you for your reply escape.

Wow, it sounds scary here. It must be a critical bug until the watchdog resets the unit. By the way, does it happen only in GPS mode or in DVD as well as normaly CD Play + radio as well?

In addition, does it mean if the touch screen is faulty, we can't use GPS at all?

For the camera, I would by from Honda as many people are happy and it would be covered by Honda when it has problems :)

Yup agree, it is too far if we have to type in the address on the touch screen (hoping that we can use existing "select/enter" button and/or know).

Hey NewHonda, Ryan shown me his GPS already.
In terms of functionality, I think it is good. In terms of some software glitch, I think still acceptable. However in terms of the finishing product/physical looks, it is not acceptable as the quality of the material (plastic) is not so good as it doesn't fit as per our original monitor. The plastic frame on the dashboard slightly bent. Thanks to Ryan for showing me that one :) (I didnt know until he told me). I am not sure if it will happen on all of the product or he is just unlucky hehehe.

Because of that drawback, I decided not to buy it.

hey tony I found a website which sells aftermarket navigation. I think this one would be better than what you saw in Ryans car .www.navion.net.au. there Address: Unit 36, 55-59 Norman Street Peakhurst
Ph: 1300 936 288 / 1300 WE NAV
As i am not living in NSW i didnt see the unit , however I have contacted the dealer and he quoted me a price of 2,200 AUD. If you come across similar unit please do tell me

Hi fmunir, sorry for the late reply. I Couldn't open the link. If I were you, I wouldn't install the GPS system for that price. I would rather save the money for buying next model with built in navigation system :)
