why would there be milky engine oil inside?

remove the sump,, drain the oil completely

you can also use nulon oil flush,,

or run a little bit of diesel engine oil to clear system,,

or change oil run the car and repeat it a few times

dont use oil flush! there are places in you motor that require oil sitting on/in them at start up.

change the oil + filter, run the car and repeat.

car is old, and done high mileage, so i didn't want to run a thinner oil.
but i try 10/30 as ur suggesting.

run a thin oil for this task. the fact that the deposits are in and around the motor is the exact point for not using oil flush to remove all the oil in these places. Oil needs to be in these places!!!!!!!!!

run thin oil or a touch of des. as suggested.

sorry im very anti oil flush products.

is the engine burning oil much??

cause 20/50 does sound right for a car close to 300,000kms .

id say give engine flush a go.. im not a professor or anything but
when i use it on old cars it does usually get rid of the left over dirty engine oil.

and to my knowledge it doesnt mean it'll flush everything out of the engine .
most engine flush applications remove harmfull contaminants and sluge .
and most well known brands are manufactured well over oem specifications.

i highly do not reccomend using oil flush, it tends to create oil leaks that you have never had before because it flushes away the old oil which was creating the seal, trust me last thing you want is your rear main seal leaking because you used oil flush.

Don't use oil flush. The viscosity is thinner than even 10w-30, and is closer to diesel fuel! Just get some cheap 10w-30 oil, put it in and run for 1 week and then change oil again to your regular oil. I wouldn't use 20w-50 as it is very thick when cold during winter mornings. Instead, look at 10w-50 if you need the thickness when the oil is hot. At least it preserves the cold weather flowability and is closer to 10w-30 in that respect.

ill get 2 or 3 bottles of 10/30 oil. but isnt 10/50 too much for an old tired engine that has done almost 300,000kms??

what i do is just grab some cheapo oil from coles or safeway for 10bucks. after i drain the old oil out i put the cheapo one through to flush untill the oil comes out a nice colour from the sump. then i just replace oil filter and top up with the oil i want.
im pretty happy with the result my oil comes out a beautiful colour each time i change oil

The first number is the viscosity when tested at -18 ºC, while the 2nd number is tested at 100 ºC. So when the engine is at operating temperature, 10w-50 and 20w-50 have very similar viscosities.

You dont want the oil to be a beautiful colour when you change it. It should have the black crap in it. If it doesnt, its not doing its job of suspending deposits.
