Hey guys,
I am new to civics and am wondering if a B18B or B16B motor is an easy transplant into a 1999 EK1 civic gli??? and do i need the B motors trans as well or will my stock trans bolt up and work out fine? (manual).??
Thanks.

might want to start doing a little research mate,,
questions and answers are all over the interwebz..
you will need a b16a or d16y8 engine loom for it to work
you will also need b16a rear engine mount and timing belt side mount..
you will need a b series transmission for it to work as well
unless its an auto , you will have to do a manual conversion first before anything else...
hope that helps.

p.s b18b isnt vtec where as b16b (ek9) is, the b18c tho is vtec b(b18cR/b18c7 = jdm and audm type r ) (b18c2 = audm vtir)

b18b is still a decent motor. Make sure its from a later GSi - 96-00 model. It needs to be a OBD2 motor to match emissions from your chassis year.
Then just get all B series running gear from a EK4 or EM1 and you are fine.
(drive shafts , rear engine bracket, gearbox bracket shift linkage ECU wiring etc )

my b18b with only 85XXX runs great...reaches full torque before the b18c2 and the b18cr. but once they hit vtec say goodbye lol
nether the less it is still a good engine and from what ive read is good to turbo
