Hi all,

I have an ek1 and have started hearing clicking noises coming from the front of the car whenever I'm accelerating and not too sure what the problem is.

It is a rapid clicking noise when the car is in motion and I start to accelerate from 2k rpm to 2.5k rpm. The car's done 200k km and it's manual... I know that it's not the CV cause the noise is not coming from turning the steering wheel full lock.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Soundsa like drive shafts.

Best guess without test drive.

I had the same problem once and it was the shafts.

one click or many clicks?

Sounds like drive shafts like bludger said

does the vehicle have abs,? any brake work been done to it lately. any shavings from machining can get into the abs ring and cause that noise

check the boots for the cvs

check your tyre pressure, and check your wheels nuts are tight

ball joints lower and upper check for movement

check for struts

could have a stone in your tyre lol :D my dad had the same problem in his mazda ute not long ago. He said it was a sticky lifter in the engine, obviously the two engines are very diferent but thought it might help

Well it's many clicks and it's more apparently when going uphill rather than downhill...

It doesn't have ABS and no brake work has been done lately.

Any idea on what would happen if I was to leave it?
