How to remove the standard head unit on 2009 honda odyssey RB3 std

are you experienced with installing headunit? if not probably get a pro to do it.

anyway i got this off Alpine Japan site, since i don't have a RB3 i can't confirm if it applies to our car so use it as a guide only.

Should be similar as removing headunit on RB1 if using the JDM double-din console.

finally got the headunit, but does anyone know where the 12V signal wire for the reverse light in car? close to the dash area? cos i'm getting the wireless reverse cam for it, but it needs a signal to switch the headunit. thanks guys~

Mine was from reverse light as it's not wireless camera.

I'm getting confused here. Is the wire for activating the HU or the camera itself? My HU is activated by the gear lever while the camera is activated by the reverse light. Mine is also not wireless, so I have a video cable running from the back to the HU to provide the picture.

ah you are correct. as far as i know on mine, power of camera from reverse light and camera signal (1 RCA wire) to HU. HU detected there is a signal from camera then turns to default AV mode for reverse camera. yeah, i'm pretty sure thats how it works.

All my wire is connected to reverse light. There's 1 wire on the head unit that will trigger the video when the reverse gear is engaged. So i connect that wire to the same wire that connects to reverse light.

Which wire are you talking about? The wire that i was talking about is the wire on the aftermarket headunit. It should have the label saying reverse camera.
