I have a twin carby civic eg
when my car is warmed up (temperature needle in middle)
my car idles up and down (between 0 to 1000) nearly stalling the car (when on neutral) and sometimes stalls it
From research everyones saying its either my IACV which needs clean up
however i dont know how to clean it because i cant find the DIYS for it i dont know what it looks like in twin carby engine like mine :(

bumppp
i cleaned my IACV and still the same problem
when i turn my aircon on the car dies out
when i turn my headlight on the car becomes stable (1100rpm)
however when i remove the plug of IACV
car is perfect :S stable (1100rpm)
when i turn my aircon on it doesnt turn off (500rpm)
is it IACV fault? shuld i drive without it?

1100rpm is very high for idle

IACV needs replacing not cleaning
you can unplug it and the RPM will calm down.

you have to get the twin carby EAVC, and it might be pricy for a new one. Putting a second hand one in will only result in the same problem if its not a perfect one.
with it disconnected you wont get idle up for when you put the engine under load when turning the wheel at low RPM's or when the altenator puts load on the engine.
remember to reset the ECU when you replace it.

I bought a new B18C7 EACV and it was $397, less some for trade price. Just so you know :(

Depending on the engine (cheap one like D16A8 or D16Y1) + labour would probably end up costing you like $1000-1500.

the mechanics also said by pluggin the cord in for iacv its not working properly because my carbys are blocked :|
i asked them what happens if i drive without it for 2 to 3 months they said they dont know :S
1000-1500? im finding a place that can bring me all the parts labour etc all i have to do is drop the car and pick it up
my dream was chukin a b16a in it:(

Then for sure do that if you have the cash. About $4000 should do it?

atleast $6000 quoted from top-one performance all parts provided with labour

6000? LOL thats ****ing dear as man,,, you can get a d16y1 for about 2 drive in drive out
or 3k for b16a2 drive in drive out + 500 for fuel injection conversion

isnt d16y1 just a waste of money?
b16a2? 3500? can u please tellme where u got that price from?

$3500 sounds very cheap. I see it like this: $2000-2500 for full engine. $500 mounts. $500 EFI conversion. $1000 swap labour. That's what I would expect to pay. So about $4000+
$6000 would get you closer to a B18C swap

saw a carby specialist today
he said its a common minor problem in these cars
solution: carb reconditioning
cost: 300 - 400
he said its not worth it just drive with idle controller unplugd as long as it doesnt stall
it will not harm the engine
and save up for a better engine
if you can tell me the place for drive in drive out for 2000$ d16y1 that would be great!!
