Hi guys, my seats on the DC2 are kinda giving me lower back aches on longish rides (30mins +), can anyone recommend some good OEM seats that I can replace them with?

Heard that the Prelude VTi-R ones are pretty good and they look alright too. I've ruled out S2000 seats, they are pretty hugging but don't really give you good lower back support.

dont see nothing wrong with EM1 seats.

Does the lower back bolster curve out or is it just flat down? The ones that curve our offer better lower back support...

DC2 seats are really comfy - how many KM's are on yours? Maybe the foam has worn out and it is no longer supporting you. Come by and sit on my DC2 seats and see if it's better =]

When you first jump in it does feel quite comfy cause that was my 1st impressions, then later after a bit of a drive you realise the support is lacking. My seats look like they're in really good condition too, about 190,000km

I have found the same problem in my ek1. Have you considered keeping a back support cushion in the car for when you drive a fair distance? Might save you having to buy new seats, unless you really want too that is

Don't want to sound lame, but have you considered getting a lower back brace? It kinda just sits on the seat and helps with the curvature of your back/posture.

My girlfriend uses one and although it's not very 'cool' it really does help with the back pain and does wonders for your core strength compared to how you normally slump.

Otherwise I have to say the best OEM seats I've ever felt in a Honda were ED9 seats lol

agreed cushion is the only cheapest alternative... i use it on long trips as the standard ek seats are just horrible, if any thhing, dc2 seats are much better

actually, eg seats are pretty comfy, an they hold u pretty well, much better than ek

Try Cushions or those soft back supports. The FD seats are also good if you could find one somehow for cheap lol

Yeah I do have a back brace thing which is quite good, the annoying thing with the back brace is that I have to put the seat further back to get the same distance between the steering wheel and my feet. This can be really annoying if someone hops into your car and you can't move forward (space is limited in a DC2).

Oh well I guess if there's no other choice I'm gonna have to get some cushions/back brace again...

Don't ask why, but I've gone through 2 sets of EG seats, 1 set of Prelude seats, 1 set of Del Sol seats and 2 sets of GSI seats and 2 seats of VTi-R seats. To be honest, the most comfy would have to be the DC2 seats and the EG seats. The only thing I have to say is it really, REALLY matters how old the seats are. Squeeze the bolsters etc. It should be fairly firm. If it's soft, then it's not going to support you very well.

Best example are the EG seats I had. The first set was bad but I didn't know until I found a cheap good condition set on Ozhonda and thought I might as well replace mine (head rests were loose). DAMN it made a huge difference! Just thought I'd put it out there.

maybe you can be like a particular cultural group which i wont mention in sydney, and sit almost like your lying down and your head completely on the head rests.
that way your almost like lying down in a hammock - hammock's are comfortable.

and to top it off, windows down loud music with lots of bass.

dc2 and delsol has pretty much the 2 most comfy oem seats.

Have you looked into oem seats of different make? I know the Fto and Celica zr both had really comfy seats.

NightKids

Yeah what would be the process with other makers seats? Is it a process of swapping seat rails and seat pans?

defect
10-01-2011, 10:00 AM
guess that would depend on the seat, if the oem honda seat pan fits onto different make seats.

As long as you're not using some bullshit universal rails and have the original seat rails for the car, it shouldnt be so hard to work.

Yeah I've done a seat pan swap before but only Honda --> Honda...

Oh yes very nice, I reckon it's that curve bit I need. My EG5 seats were a bit like that too...

How much you selling it for?
