Hi! i've been a member on OH for quite a while now, but have never relli gotten a chance to intro myself

but anywho, im currently looking at the euro which has gotten great interest from me due to the car's many std features and also the slight performance side for a car that is sort of considered as a family sedan (sorry if i offend anyone by calling it that)

although the 0-100 time is not the reason im looking at the car for, i know of the manual time to be 7.9 secs? i think..and the auto to be 9sec? but im juz wondering is the auto time gained from using the 5 speed tiptronic control? or juz letting the gears change itself like any other auto car. I am aware that the time says "auto" but since the Euro has tiptronic im juz sort of curious. thnx in advance! =)

If you change the auto "manually" you will find the time be slower than just leave it in auto mode. The reason been the ECU has optimal gear changing point.

Tiptronic is good when you are on winding roads and want to hold the gear through the corners.

some cars are actually known to be faster using the tiptronic. the sports mitsu verada i think, from my poor memory. but it just probably reflects a stupid change program.

I have timed my Euro using a stopwatch at 8.2 seconds, keep in mind that I have the Auto, this was in sequential mode as I find that if I rev the engine up before changes I can actually get better results than if I leave it in normal Auto mode!

Was this a one off or did you record it multiple times? Flat road, etc? I am not doubting you - I just think that is a fantastic time for the Auto esp when you consider you will have only hit VTEC once to 100k/ph. The 6MT will hit it twice - weighs less and will only do the run marginally faster - say 7.9 or thereabouts.

Well it all depends on reaction time of course, it isn't perfect, but to the best of my accuracy that is the best time I have recorded yes, and that was on a flat road with no wind. This was recorded just after a service and for some reason my Euro actually runs better with a full tank? Go figure? If you floor it in sequential and change when the revs are up it is achievable.

Well done Thorn. Runs better with full tank? No way!:D Mine loves running on empty -

This comment begs the question from me;

Are 0-100 times taken as an average ova a few runs? or the best time out of a few runs?

Anybody know?

Does anyone know what the V6 3.0 VTEC Accord does 0-100?

I believe it is 7.5-7.9 - not bad for an auto.

LOL ! What I meant was it runs better, smoother after I have just filled the tank, once it gets down to half or under I actually feel as though the car is more sluggish.. mechanically I am not sure if there is any reason for this but it is something I have noticed

Using a stopwatch to measure 0-100 time is too inaccurate though.

TRUE...

At least on a 10% minimum correction error.. and also, the speedo isn't the car's through speed, it will be actually less due to the digital to physical conversion of the speed readout...

It is close enough - depends on how it is done.

Yeah it feels like that for all cars.. After u fill up the tank it feels more smoother, must be something to do with the octane or that there is no more air in the fuel tank or something... Have no idea why hey...
