hey guys tried to find so me similar set ups but couldnt really find much my fail.
after what this would roughtly make and also run?
i just got my self a dc2 vti-r all stock atm besides a excedy sports tuff clutch
im ordering some vteckidd rmf narrow replica headers
skunk2 intake manifold + tb(if its worth while getting the tb too?)
ill make up the intake pipe and do a cold air intake
and will make up a 2.5 cat back exhaust mostlikly
and if would be benifical a hondata s300 (may go turbo later on if im not happy with this set up)
so providing the engine is healthy what power roughly should i expect to make at the wheels, and run down teh strip? the car hasnt been striped out or anything
feel free to reconmend other parts if they are better suited to this application then what i listed?
also possibly do some cams that dont need valve springs and retainers ect?
cheers Trev

add lightened flywheel + dc2r 'box

I notice people say the itr bOx Alot what's the advantage? Better ratios or stronger? How much do they normally go for?
I may already have a lightend flywheel I have to check with the previous owner as it feels quite easy to free rev very similar to my ae86 4age with toda light weight fly wheel

the main difference with itr box and ur Vtir box
itr has LSD and a 4.7 final drive.....
compared to ur open wheel diff and 4.4 final drive...
ofcourse there are some differences in ratios...but i got no idea wat they are...

shit kunt.. depends alot on the driver and setup of car..
Are you going to run slicks? stripped down the strip??
Times down the strip is pretty hard to judge..
With a b18c/7 dc2r- cold air + headers + decent exhaust + tune = 120kw ATWs (that's with proper brands like injen, toda, buddyclub etc PROVEN HP)
(I think the only cold air that gives power to a b18c/7 is the stock air box, injen and mugen box anything else is rubbish and will make u loose power)
With the following mods i've seen people run as low as 13.5 down the strip with a good setup and 1/2 stripped dc2.
I've seen people run 14.1 on stock dc2r with sussy + decent tyres.
So if you have a b18c2 (vtir) and you're putting on the same mods as above but you won't have the aggresive polished head + cams of the b18c/7. You will get less.
And because you don't have the ITR box with LSD & high final drive you won't be able to put your power down as well well as a dc2r.
Because you don't have light weight fenders like the dc2r you'll be heavier- so you'll have to strip more. HAHA

^ mate where do you get your information from? So DC2R's have light weight fenders? lmao they have lighter bonnets but not fenders theyr the same on VTiR-GSi
To OP stock DC2 VTiR get around mid-high 15's 1/4 mile , ive seen light modded (I/H/E) ones around the low 15 , mild modded (I/H/E)+Tune+DC2R box high 14s
then again its all to do with driver, if its your first time to the strip expect crap times and the more your familiar with the strip the better your times will be .

If your going with all those bolt-ons, make sure you get it tuned with a tunable ECU
Low- mid 14's should be on the cards. I wouldn't bother with a ITR box, unless you find one cheap. I would rather change your final drive (4.9)

Any good places to get gears from and lsd, found some on eBay forgot how much for now, Is it a trans out job to put them in(never worked with a fwd always rwd)
If you're trying to build it to be a straight line warrior, might wanna consider a longer 1st gear, use 2.105 second gear and then shorter 3rd, 4th and 5th.
Longer first will allow you to put the power down better where traction is needed, 2.105 so second gear is not too close to third and shorter 3,4,5 will give you better acceleration in the top end where
these low displacement engines tend to run outta puff.
I probably wouldn't use 4.9 with different gear ratios though, might be at your max speed before you reach finish line LOL
You can go 4.9 on the stock transmission, but your gears would still be fairly stretched out compared to a close ratio box so it comes down to what you're using the car for. Also depends
on how much money you're willing to spend. 4.9FD will be much cheaper.
At a wild guess, with the B18c2, I/H/E tuned to around 115kw, HD clutch and flywheel, close ratio - 3.070, 2.105, 1.67, 1.387, 1.118 & 4.4FD + LSD, street tyres and enough practice.
I reckon low 13s are do-able.
Regarding places to get gears, try Mfactory or Kaaz. They tend to be quite popular with honda boxes.
Taking off a FWD box isn't hard, just time consuming lol

Noticed the motor is blowing a bit of smoke I think, in the top revs, still pulls great but, considering getting a motor from the states that's sleeved and stuff to handle bit boost for 3k usd plus shipping, then just get another s-375 like that's on my Vl and put it on and go for big numbers, as the na bottom end is same price and I can't justify it in my head for that money,
What's everyone else think?

Btw that's with Hondata s300, 2200cc injectors, e85 and clutch + drive shafts + lsd

i personally think in real world terms you are dreaming if you think any amount of light work ( anything bolt on plus tuneable ECU) will dip below flat 14s MAYBE high 13s. You either turbo it / build it big $$$$ or just put the usual mods that everyone else gets( lightweight flywheel hd clutch , FD or itr gearbox , header , cat+caback , intake maybe tuneable ecu ) and be happy with a car that has good feel. It wont push more than 110-120kw. So what ? It feels fast and depending on your driving skill it can go fast around a track :)

yeh agreed with ben,
with the set of mods you listed and maybe a set of ITR cams or similar your looking at 110-120kw depending on the condition and KM's on the motor.
but the car will be an awesome drive and there will be power there when you need it.
...unless its a stinking hot day

you just made my day!!!!! you dont need big power to go fast around the track, just a balanced car with well thought out mods and a big set of balls. :)

I think everyone is dreaming if they think a VTiR is capable of high 13s with bolt ons.
