I recently bought myself the halo headlight coversion to my ek4. A couple months later the bloody LED in the halo thingy has started to blink and the other side has completely gone out. I've checked all the wiring and everthing and i see nothing wrong with it. So took it to an auto elec and he said that the LED has gone and have to replace it. I have no f**king idea on how to open the head light can anyone here help me or have experience the same problem. I am running out of ideas. Thanks
Please help

depends on the original build quality of the light, if it is like everyother aftermarket light i have seen the back and the front lense of the light is sorta like super glued so pulling it appart would destroy it. Standard ones have a glue, you just check them in the oven lue goes soft.. booya light open. good luck man.

mine are both blown on my crx,
Fixing them would mean putting them in the oven (for very little time) to let the glue soften, take them apart, and replace the l.e.d..

which i havent done, nor am planning to do
cause i have a feeling they will just blow again.
(only had them light up for about a week)

Most of them are shipped from usa, or taiwan.

You can return them if you wish,
but the same thing is bound to happen, all of them are made the same.

Ive only kept mine for the black housing.

Good luck red-vtir

how about returning the lights to the shop and having them replace it... it's their dodgy product so they have to deal with it. my halo led's blew out within a month and had to have em replaced too..

farkn stupid if you ask me..led's meant to last almost forever

it really is stupid idea, LED's fail if the temp gets to hot like constant 50+ temps which wouldn't be too hard to achieve with your other burner lamps operating.
