hey guys im posting a quick question for my mate , he bought a b16a2 motor and put it into his ek , but after he put it in he found holes in the bottom of the motor and gearbox..... dont know why he didnt check the motor properly while buying it. But does he have to do to get this running ? would he have to rebuild the bottom ? How much do these go for?

wtf lol actual hole? probly means, motor was boosted way beyond its limits and rod thru block

bottom block will be a throw out item if rod threw out

good excuse swap to bigger displacement bottom end , no replacement for displacement

Then we can't help. B16A block could be $100-300 depending on condition. B18C or B20 block probably $500+

Well if the gearbox has holes in it like you said you'll need another one of those too. B16 boxes go for about $600-900 as I see them.

This will be a good excuse to upgrade your bottom end :) B20 or B18 block

for all we know, he could just be describing an engine without the flywheel cover.

I seriously doubt someone could be stupid enough to buy an engine with holes in it. I could be wrong. (that would be funny)

Dude, whats so funny about that, it could happen to anyone, we cant always pay professionals to do things for us you know, thats what the forum is for, to help each other...

Get the pics up buddy and we will be able to see the damage....

I'm all for helping anyone that needs help, but seriously... You don't have to be a professional see a hole... As to what the hole is, pics will definitely be needed...

That doesnt make any sense, I was asking you whats so funny about his predicament...
