they are pretty sought after and there wasnt as many made compared to the likes of the Dc2 and BB6 etc

do you specifically want a VTIR - or would you settle for a VTI (EJ8)

the EJ8 has a D16y8 - which is the best D series and gearbox combination in australia
but its only SOHC and the interior trim etc isnt quite as good

personally i would want the EM1 with the B16a2 - but if your not a performance nut than a EJ8 might also do the job

there's 2 VTIR hatches to every coupe for sale. the EM coupe is a very nice car and if i was buying i'd want a coupe too but just FYI the hatch is going to be faster and handles better.

there's enough on carsales worth looking at, depends on what you're looking for. price? distance? clean, unmodified and low K's be prepared to pay. most of them are modified and badly IMO.

I dont know about being faster, according to redbook the kerbweight for the EM1 is 1114kg compared to 1105kg for the Ek4...only 9kg difference. With the right suspension mods both will handle just as well as each other however the EM1 will always win the award for looks :p Now I probably sound bias lol

you're gonna be waiting a long time if you're expecting to buy one in the right colour and modified the way you want. EM owner who put them in is usually gonna keep them or sell em separately from the car.

there's a few clean EMs and EKs on carsales being sold 'as is' with all mod including recaros but they're priced accordingly and predictably are in champ white.
