Hey, I need to buy a set of engine mounts for my FD1. Does anybody know where I can purchase them? JDM Yard only have Hasport engine mounts for the FD2. Thanks.

Are you doing an engine swap? Isn't it a bit early to be needing new engine mounts? :p

yeah it is.. ive only just gone past 65,000kms and i dont drive my car hard at all. =S
but there is a lot of vibrations coming from the engine and ive taken it to two shops that both say that the engine mounts need replacing.

:( If I had of known my 8th gen was going to get stolen and burnt out I would have given you the mounts first. haha

aero, is it really the engine mounts? we have the same problem (vibrations when we start up in the morning & while in park or reverse).. i brought my car to honda last week and they say the mounts are ok. they haven't rectify the problem, they just told me that maybe there is a problem with the transmission.

Thing is, i have the same problems ( vibrations during the first start up of the day and in park and reverse, it shakes for a little while), however, my car is new, it hasnt even been a year and its done 15000km's. I hope that i dont have to change my mounts as well. Aero, have you checked any american sites?

i havnt checked US forums.

the car just shakes all the time now. it used to be at just idle and reverse, but i can feel it vibrating on low revs. also if i go over bumps with a bit too much speed, i can feel an extra kind of thump from the front... as though the engine bounces as well.

Its the same with my car. It vibrates on uneven surface as well and the vibration seems to come from the front part and under the car.. maybe the transmission mounts?

engine support problem is a common flaw with the 06-08 FD1...most of my friend overseas changed their engine support earlier than expected...

this is less than a year fd engine support from one of the guy overseas..

i called up honda parts today and ask how much it would be for engine mounts. for a full set, it will be $942 plus $50-60 for the bolts... this is the price just for parts and does not include any labour. gg!

the only way i can probably save some money here is to see if i only need 1 or 2 specific mounts, rather than get a whole new set. ill have to book the car in to a mechanic again to figure that out.

so yeah.. this was the culprit

apparently the oil that is in the top engine mounts had "gone off" and so the mounts themselves had begun to slump. this meant that they werent able to hold up the engine and there wasnt enough cushion which made the whole car vibrate. i think only one of my top mounts needed replacing, but i had both of them done for $700.
it was a lot of money i could have put in elsewhere, but now the car is running like new and quiet as a mouse

They were oem replacements. I tried asking everywhere around here and nobody had aftermarket ones for the r18. Ones on eBay did not ship to Australia and I'm if they did, the shipping costs wouldn't have been cheap. So I had no choice but to buy directly from my local Honda dealer

honda service got the part and installed it free hahahaha, i only got my right hand side engine mount changed the other week 90000km on it,, at first i thoght it was my coilovers and took it to pedders and done a check and told me it was my engine mount, when i took my car into honda and told them i keep getting a knocking noise in the front of the car coz of the busted engine mount they told me that is was the suspension and that they wernt ganna touch my car coz i chnaged my suspension, (full adjustable coil overs by pedders), and blamed it on them, charged me $126 to tell me that ok ,, so i went bak to pedders told them that honda said it was there parts, they looked at it again, and showed me the busted and leaking engine mount,, took my car bak to honda acting all angry lol asking to talk to the mechanice that last worked on my car and told me that the engine mount were all ok, servce ppl got scared and went to get him but sent out the head mechanic insted, told him the full story bla bla bla went for a drive he keeps telling me that it was the my coilovers, but when we got bak to the yard he said he would hav a look coz he didnt last time./.... ok got bak 10min later he comes out saying sorry dont know how the othere machanic missed that we will refund ur $126 from last time and we will get the part and install it for free,,, ahahahahaha sweeet...

I would go for OEM engine mounts.
