Hey guys,
Back again, well couple of days ago I gave my brakes a good service, new pads, disc rotors front and back and a whole brake flush of the system. Now my problem is I have what you would call "Dead Space" about 1/4 or so of the pedal before I can feel the actual brakes bitting, what factors would cause this and how can I overcome this situation?
The bleeding was done correctly, bedded the pads and rotors right, don't have any feedback from the brakes, they work fine, brakes smoothly just the fact that there is this dead space before it engages?
The car is a EH9 Honda civic sedan with a bone stock brake system non abs (disc's front and back).
Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I'm sure that like mine, your gut says that there is still air in the system. Bleed again.
Did you drain the system completely before refilling? I've found that a great way to get air in all the nooks inside the calipers. Use a mallet to tap them while you bleed.
yeh, bleed again. See if it improves.. if it does then theres your problem.

did you bleed them manually (pumping pedal and opening bleed nipple) or using air (hooking container up and opening bleed nipple and sucking out with air)
ive found to get better results doing it manually.

Yea thats what I thought at first so I did all 4 corners again till there was a constant flow of fluid out from the bleed nipple which i connected a clear pipe in. Still the same outcome, I did have this problem before the overhaul but worse which prompt me to actually overhaul the whole braking system.
I have a feeling it maybe somthing to do with my Master cylinder or brake booster. As I briefly ride on the brakes before actually engaging them it, it actually feels like normal? but if a step on the brakes almost instantly it gives me the dead space effect.

I do my bleeding manually, got my old man to pump and press the pedal while I open and close the bleed valve.
Really sure theres no air in the brake lines, how do I find out if my master cylinder has air in it?
I remember reading an article to troubleshoot your braking system whether its the BB or MC etc just cnt find it!

Hey just an update, I did the test where the car is on and I'll step on the brake pedal as hard as I can and it will start sinking =(, also it seems my rear brakes may not be working as hard as it should?

so either need to rebuild the brake MC or get a new one
