Type R lip won't fit a pre-facelift bar. But it's definitely the best looking.

Was the 96 ITR bug-eyed, therefore running a front bar like the pre-facelifted AUDM Integra???

:/

No idea, you can always get a Type R styled one to suit anyways.

In 1995 Honda introduced their first Type R to the Japanese domestic market as a car that the common man could afford.
The JDM Type R had the minor change long headlights that remained only for the JDM models while the world market version
had the pre-facelift double round lights.

So no, an Aus Type R lip will not fit a pre-facelifted bar.

Australia only got the ITR in 1999.

Vvvtec

No shit! We got DC2/4's a long time before that.

newpaddy3
15-01-2011, 06:48 PM
Then why the **** did you think the AUDM ITR was pre-facelift if it only came here in 1999?

And a massive no shit about DC2/4's being around 7 years before a Type R model came around.

Vvvtec
15-01-2011, 06:50 PM
LOL calm down man, YOU said '96 ITR'... Like YOU said, we never got a Type R until 99, therefore I assumed (silly me) that you were obviously talking about the JDM model.

:P

The US was the first and probably only country which got a pre facelifted bug eye ITR in 1997. It was a very limited run but it does have a lip. If you have a pre facelift, there might be ebay replicas of a 97 Acura Type R lip.

I think everywhere else outside Japan only got facelifted ITRs from 98 onwards.

Hey guys, i've got a question which may appear silly... do you tell your insurance company about installing a front lip? I mean it would be stupid if they decided to refuse a claim and void my policy cos of it. I just wanna have all my bases covered as i'm paying 1.3k p.a, hopefully it's not for nothing. There's no option in the modifications, the closest one would be "body kit".

tiah313

just give them a call an ask.
or u could say u thought it was stock front lip when u bought it lol

Everytime i call an insurance company, i talk to some moron who doesn't know anything and just talks me through the exact process as an "online quote" jeezus... then he says "i got an error, im gonna put you on hold"... then 20 minutes later hes like "ok lets do it again"

*sigh*

Riced_Civic

its just a lip kit.
i didnt tell my insurace about it and when i had a accident it was fine

I actually sent my insurance company an enquiry including an image of the lip on the car. I told them it cost approximately $100 and they said it wouldn't affect the policy, however, they wouldn't cover it if I was involved in an accident. :)

it shouldn't of taken that long just to put on a front lip?

charliebrown
26-01-2011, 09:07 PM
It kept snapping off... taking along chunks of my bumper. Also had to move the wheels and stuff to be able to get enough room to remove/add the wheel wall screws. But yes 90 minutes is a very long time... it was also not screwed on one side properly for a few days. Just got that fixed up. Screw wasn't long enough to go through the lip + bumper + wheel wall

Bulbasaur
27-01-2011, 06:22 PM
screw isnt ment to go through wheel wall =X

*blinks* Where else does it go? I've got two in the middle and two on the side?

Bulbasaur
27-01-2011, 07:07 PM
for the screws on the side it is only ment to go though the bumper and lip itselft but i guess it dosnt really matter =x

Oh really, they should provide instructions with these things...
If you only go through lip and bumper, it kinda hangs out and the wheel wall is loose. Like the lip flares out to the side a bit more and doesn't look as solid when you look in from the side and see the wall flapping around
